Position Summary
The Air Export Agent is responsible for coordinating and executing the administrative export process, including quoting, scheduling pick-up, documentation, routing, applying rates, invoicing, tracking, and customer support. Key Responsibilities
Arrange freight pick-up from client and coordinate with carriers for timely transportation
Verify freight details (pieces, weights, dimensions) and confirm acceptability for movement (containerized, OOG, special handling, etc.)
Confirm receipt of written authorization for freight movement (e.g., Shipper's Letter of Instructions)
Review and ensure compliance with letter of credit requirements, registrations, or special documentation needs (e.g., TIB cancellations)
Route and book freight according to shipper instructions while considering efficiency, cost, and handling requirements
Provide booking instructions and shipment confirmations to clients
Apply quoted rates, contract rates, and negotiated rates in accordance with business objectives
Prepare and issue required export documentation (Bills of Lading, Export Declarations, Certificates of Origin, insurance policies, etc.)
Initiate and complete special examinations, validations, or certifications required prior to export

A Global Manufacturing Company who specializes in Paper and Hygiene Products is seeking a Licensed Customs Broker for Import / Export services of Consumer Products. This position will ensure that the company's import and export activities comply with all applicable U.S. and international trade laws including, EAR, ITAR, OFAC, and partner government agency requirements. This position is responsible for managing all aspects of global logistics, customs compliance, documentation, financial impacts, and risks, for raw materials, machinery, components, and finished goods. This role is crucial for ensuring timely delivery, minimizing delays, and maintaining compliance with global trade regulations. Pay rates are based on Experience and Education. This is a Direct Hire, Remote position with a good salary, bonuses, benefits, and healthcare. Up to 20% travel to South Carolina, Georgia, or Pennsylvania is required for this role.
Principal Accountabilities/ Responsibilities:
Manage the import and export process of raw materials, machinery, parts, and finished goods aligned with production schedules.
Ensure compliance with all international trade regulations, U.S. and foreign customs laws, and manufacturing-specific import/export requirements.
Prepare, verify, and maintain shipping and customs documentation, including invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and certificates of origin.
Work closely with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and 3PL partners to coordinate timely and cost-effective global shipments.
Track shipments in real time and proactively resolve any issues with customs clearance or logistics delays.
Optimize logistics operations and reduce transportation costs through vendor negotiation and process improvements.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in International Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Minimum 3 years of experience as a Licensed Customer Broker in import/export operations, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
Certified Internal Trade Professional, preferred
Certified ExportSpecialist (CES), preferred
Strong working knowledge of Incoterms, HTS classification, and global trade regulations.
Proficiency with ERP systems such as SAP, or equivalent.
Experience with customs documentation, shipping procedures, and international logistics.
20% Travel to stateside Manufacturing locations in Pennsylvania, South Carolina, and Georgia.
Must be able to work in the US- US Citizens / Canadian Citizens / US Green Card holders welcome.

Position Overview:
SGL is seeking a proactive Ocean Import Coordinator to oversee end-to-end ocean import operations. In this role, you will manage the complete freight forwarding process from initiating shipment documentation to coordinating with internal teams and delivering exceptional customer service. You will ensure the accurate and timely movement of cargo and information while maintaining compliance with company procedures and industry standards. Job Description:
Enter international ocean import tracking documentation from origin to destination.
Ensure that regulatory requirements are met and that shipments have exact paperwork, such as transit documents and customs clearances.
Ensure that documentation is processed, distributed, and discharged in a timely way to carriers, forwarders, customers, and agents.
Prepare all major data entry and confirmation of key milestones (departure, arrival, customs clearance, PODs, and so on) as per Customer Standard Operating Procedures. Maintain polite, timely, and efficient customer service.
Maintain accurate costs and profits by overseeing and completing proper billing to clients based on agreed pricing.
Ensure that shipments are picked up and transferred with the proper partners.
Develop techniques and procedures for transporting commodities from local or offshore locations to warehouses, other storage offices, or final consignee locations for nominated shippers.
To stay competitive, negotiate shipping costs.
Prepare customs declarations and bonds.
Develop and manage successful relationships with local suppliers and other co-load carriers (for example, airline agents, freight forwarders, customs brokers, local pickup and delivery firms, regional trucking companies, and line-haul providers).
Establish and manage the essential procedures to ensure that all employees work in a clean, well-organized, safe, and healthy environment.
Take booking requests, ensure bookings are made at current and accurate rates, consolidate and route shipments based on local office procedures from departure, arrival, customs clearance, PODs, etc.
Arrange for container pickup and return to railyard.
Coordination of daily shipments (documentation, monitoring, arranging pickup/ dispatching, communicate with carriers and issuing invoices etc.)
Monitor and manage shipments until completion. Keep customers appraised to the import details of transactions in accordance with local office import operation procedures.
In-depth communications with e.g., vendor, shipper, customer carrier, overseas agents, freight forwarders, customs broker, local pickup, and delivery companies etc.
Responds to emails and rate requests in a timely manner, assisting local sales efforts.
Accurate and Timely Billing e.g.: create customer invoice and approve payables.
Review standard operating procedures to ensure compliance, FMC, Quality Assurance Standards, TAPA, and IMDG, ISO, Customs, etc.
In-depth understanding of the Ocean Export process, EEI, and NVOCC / Non-NVOCC
Understand department process flow, looking for best practices to improve operational efficiency and productivity.
Complete all inbound moves; this includes, but is not limited to, ITs and permits to transfer.
Escalation of problems to Management when necessary
Perform any other duties that may be assigned by the Department Manager
