Diving Into the Values at Express Scripts

Strong Principles

If you are thinking about a career with ES, it is definitely a good idea to familiarize yourself with the company's guiding principles. All day-to-day actions are aligned with them and ES considers these principles essential to the work they do. Those principles are:

  • We care deeply about our customers, patients, and co-workers
  • We create a better future -- together
  • We innovate and adapt
  • We act with speed and purpose
  • We partner, collaborate and keep our promises
  • The biggest thing about these principles is that they all start with 'We.' Everything that is done at ES is about the team and not the individual. They celebrate wins together and they all take responsibility when something is awry.

Mary Jo, a Senior Manager, said, "I always consider how my work impacts our members. If it were one of my family or friends, I'd want them to have the best possible experience."

One major way that ES proves again that it is a warm and welcoming place for all people, as well as an innovative and progressive environment, is the many Employee Resource Groups the company has available to its people. Those groups are an African American / Black Group, Aspire (Asian), Pride (LGBTQ+), Juntos (Hispanic / Latinx), Multi-Generational Group, Achieving Better Lives for Everyone, or ABLE Group, UpLift (Interfaith), UpNext (career progression), Salute Veterans Group, and Women Influencing and Networking Group. I worked for five years at a third-party call center and by the end of it, I was diagnosed with depression and generalized anxiety disorder. I would honestly rather have worked for a phone sex line than take the calls I took.

That's awful I'm sorry to hear that. Did the company have any counseling while you were employed? Could they be held liable for psychological damage due to the job?
