As part of this initiative, the 4-H program is hiring four Temporary On-call positions to support the project. Location: Clare/Gladwin Lapeer Houghton Gogebic Position Summary: Temporary $20.00 an hour X 26 hours per week. End date 9/30/2026 Position: In this role, you will plan and deliver direct programming for youth audiences, focusing on safety belt use and distracted driving awareness. Programs will be offered in-person and/or virtually, through after-school initiatives, short-term/special interest programs, and school enrichment efforts. You will also engage in outreach during community events such as fairs, festivals, etc. Characteristic Duties/Responsibilities: As a member of the MSU Extension 4-H team, you will provide youth seat belt educational programing, program promotion, expansion, and evaluation, with a commitment to fostering a welcoming and collaborative environment that values differing perspectives, skills, and experiences, while promoting equitable access to programming. A key aspect of this position includes building and maintaining partnerships with local schools, community organizations, and stakeholders to enhance program reach and impact. Create and contribute to MSU Extension's social media presence, including Facebook, Instagram, and X, by posting bi-weekly to showcase 4-H Safety Belt Programming. FLS attorneys litigate complex wage and hour, multi-party employment, discrimination, and human trafficking cases in Michigan state and federal courts and provide a full range of civil legal services to Michigan's eligible population of farmworkers and their dependents in matters such as: housing, T or U-visa applications for victims of employment-based crimes, workers' compensation, public benefits, workplace health and safety, and unemployment administrative proceedings. MAP works to advance the safety, independence, and economic stability of those most affected by poverty, racism, and other structurally oppressive systems by increasing access to justice and working for systemic solutions and has a staff of about 220 people in offices in Battle Creek, Jackson, Kalamazoo, Lansing, Grand Rapids, Monroe, and Ypsilanti. This individual does aggressive case-finding of persons who are homeless in the Downtown Akron area. This employee will engage individuals who are homeless in services and assist with accessing community resources, housing, and basic entitlements. The DAP Outreach Worker will make initial contact with the persons to be served in non-traditional settings such as meal sites, shelters, the street, abandoned buildings, etc. What You'll Do: Continuously and independently provide case-finding through personal networking with street dwellers, shelters, meal sites, and other places where homeless people gather, particularly in the downtown area. The Outreach Worker will coordinate outreach services with Block by Block and Downtown Akron Partnership staff. Assess persons who are homeless to determine appropriateness for service, and then either develop rapport to help persons to be served in their environment or connect them with other resources through referrals. Work closely with other social services agencies that provide services to those who are homeless, or who risk homelessness, by accepting referrals from them and making referrals to them. Provide consultation/education regarding behavior management and mental health issues. Participate in regular team meetings with outreach nurses, psychiatrists, and other outreach workers and residential staff. Request and/or schedule necessary evaluations and assessments in order to identify strengths, needs, abilities, and preferences of persons served.
