OPPORTUNITY Central Minnesota Mental Health Center (CMMHC) has a rewarding opportunity to serve as a Clinical Trainee or Therapist within Outpatient Mental Healh (OPMH) Team in our Buffalo location. Provider will work in conjunction with a multidisciplinary team and staff; refer to other programs as needed. Therapy sessions may be one to one, in groups, or in sessions involving family members.

This therapy-based program is designed to support both short-term life challenges and long-standing mental health concerns. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Instruct, assist, and support clients in areas such as; interpersonal communication skills, community resource utilization and integration skills, crisis assistance, relapse prevention skills, health care directives, budgeting and shopping skills, healthy lifestyle skills and practices, cooking and nutrition skills, transportation skills, mental illness symptom management skills, household management skills, employment-related skills, and integration into community living.
Under the supervision of the Team Leader, provide evidence-based individual, group, and family therapy interventions.
Make changes in the treatment plan to ensure immediate and appropriate interventions are provided in response to changes in mental status/symptoms or behavior which may put the recipient at risk.
Provide medication monitoring and education regarding health maintenance to encourage a healthy lifestyle. These activities include: assist in maintaining consistent medication regime, deliver medication, discuss purposes and benefits of medications, and report any complaints or distress about medications.
Work collaboratively with a variety of community providers, employers, landlords, and families.
Maintain current knowledge of the mental health service system and the ability to locate information and resources for a variety of client needs within the mental health, medical, housing and social services system.
Participate in daily, mandatory, team meeting as well as all designated team activates.
Follow all current mandated reporter guidelines.
Requirements

Clinical Trainee
Master's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or Marriage and Family Therapy
Working towards licensure as an LP, LPCC, LICSW or LMFT
Clearance from DHS and sexual exploitations screening.

This internship offers hands-on experience in nonprofit communications, digital strategy, and storytelling. The intern will support key initiatives across social media, website optimization, podcast and video content production, and donor engagement campaigns.

Key Responsibilities
Assist in editing and maximizing podcast and video content for social media, newsletters, and website placements

A sleep (polysomnographic) trainee develops competency in and performs basic sleep testing and associated interventions, under the direct supervision of a sleep technologist (RPSGT or RST). Provides education and support to patients and families regarding sleep testing and sleep disorders treatment.
Qualifications
Education Note:
One (1) year of college courses or six (6) months of direct patient care experience. Must be enrolled in an Accredited Sleep Technologist Education Program, (A-STEP) program within six (6) months after hire date.

Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA)
Specialized Knowledge and Skills Requirements
Must have strong interpersonal and customer-service skills. Possess appropriate computer skills for the position (basic computer operation/troubleshooting; Word and Excel). Good verbal and written communication skills; ability to perform basic math/computations. Demonstrate critical thinking skills and ability to follow direction.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions
Documents patient arrival, interactions, and consent for testing.
Reviews patient history and supporting documentation for medical necessity. Acquires and documents additional information from the patient or ordering provider, if needed, to ensure appropriateness of testing and parameters.
Reviews and verifies departmental orders for testing.
Performs routine positive airway pressure (PAP) interface fitting, desensitization, and education.
Prepares patient for testing according to policy, selecting appropriate equipment per order.
Per policy, documents routine observations during testing. Correlates physiologic data and behavioral observations to facilitate scoring and interpretation of data.
Performs equipment and physiologic calibrations to ensure quality data; monitors data quality to ensure recording is artifact-free.
Performs equipment cleaning and disinfection; assures infection and quality control according to policy.
Develops and demonstrates proficiency in distinguishing sleep states and identifying clinical events, according to professional guidelines.
Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide age specific care for all populations seen in the Sleep Lab.
Follows "Lights On" procedures to verify integrity of data, and completeness of test documentation and patient forms.
Assists with appropriate interventions (including patient safety and sleep-related therapeutic interventions).
Develops and maintains effective working relationships; communicates professionally and respectfully with all internal and external customers.
Supports and participates in quality and PI initiatives.
Performs and demonstrates proficiency in performing ancillary testing (oximetry, actigraphy, home sleep apnea testing).
Assists in requesting and maintaining testing supplies; participates in routine department tasks and orderliness of work area.

Compensation and Benefits
The compensation range for this position is $20.02per hour - $32.43per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
