F.A. Davis company history timeline
In 1879, while working as an agent for William Wood and Company, a publisher and distributor for British publishers, Davis launched his company with a manuscript written by Doctor John V. Shoemaker, dean of the Medico-Chirurgical College, now called the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine.
Davis turned his attention back to medical publishing after the F.A. Davis Company was reincorporated in 1901.
Alonzo Davis focused on his father’s business enterprises in Florida until they fell victim to the Stock Market Crash of 1929.
