Postdoctoral Fellow, Cancer Immunology, Oh Lab
The Position
We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated postdoctoral research fellow to join the Oh Lab in the Cancer Immunology department at Genentech.
The goal of this research position is to examine how checkpoint inhibition, with a particular focus on the PD-1/PD-L1 pathway, impacts the dynamics of the tumor-specific T cell receptor (TCR) repertoire, and its subsequent impact on T cell priming, differentiation, and function. Additional areas of exploration will center around how T cell interactions with antigen presenting cells in the tumor influence the development of productive anti-tumor immune responses. Greater insight into the characteristics of the tumor-specific TCR repertoire and CD8+ T cell phenotypes that drive productive anti-tumor responses will have important implications not only for the development of adoptive cell therapies, but will also enhance our understanding of other efficacious therapies.
The cutting-edge research environment at Genentech provides access to advanced experimental and computational technologies, opportunities to collaborate with scientists from many different disciplines, and exposure to process of drug/therapeutic development.
Qualifications:
* Candidates must be a recent or upcoming graduate of a Ph.D. program in Immunology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology or related biological science.
* Expertise in T cell biology is highly desired.
* A strong record of scientific accomplishments including impactful peer-reviewed first author paper(s).
* Strong oral and written communication skills, and willingness to work in a highly collaborative environment is required.
* Expertise in multi-dimensional flow cytometry, in vivo models, and single cell analysis technologies is highly desired.
