The company was founded in Boston in 1866 by John Stults as the city's second wholesale dealer in plumbing fixtures.
An accomplished plumber and patent holder, John later partnered with Henry W. Mansur to form the Stults & Mansur Company in 1873.
1899 In 1899, Frank Webb purchased the Boston branch from the McShane brothers and the following year renamed it, F.W. Webb Manufacturing Company.
1912 Frank remained at the helm of his new company for the next 12 years until his untimely death in 1912.
Purchased in 1933 by Roger Pope, the company is now under the third generation of Pope family ownership.
At the time, John was a sales representative at the company - a position he had assumed in 1956 after graduating from Dartmouth College and serving as a lieutenant in the United States Navy.
In 1968, John moved the company headquarters from Columbus Ave. in Roxbury to Middlesex Turnpike in Burlington, Massachusetts, in the heart of the state's high technology and innovation corridor.
One of his greatest impacts on the business was the establishment of a central distribution warehouse in 1973, a new concept at the time.
2003 A third generation Pope family member to serve as President, Jeff Pope leads F.W. Webb Company, the largest wholesale supplier of plumbing, heating, cooling, PVF and industrial products in the Northeast.
