Faasos company history timeline
Rebel Foods Pvt Ltd., is the Owner/Parent Organisation of Faasos. It was founded by Jaydeep Barman (CEO) and Kallol Banerjee in 2011.
In 2014, Jaydeep Barman (founder of Rebel Foods) attended Sequoia Entrepreneur Summit.
Faasos launched its mobile app in 2014.
In February, the company raised another $20 million in the second round of funding, and in the next funding round, the company raise $30 million, in December 2015.
These additional things were added in the year 2015 and the company in this manner could perform various tasks using a similar kitchen, with regular fixings and similar staff to satisfy every one of their requests from changed brands.
The Faasos cloud kitchen model was introduced after the other Faasos brands were added in the year 2015.
But the business model transition to cloud kitchen in 2016 helped Rebel Foods (Faasos parent) achieve growth by increasing revenues and reducing capital expenditure.
Faasos as of 2017, was operating in 150 locations in 20 major cities of India, including Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, Surat, Kolkata, Chennai, Coimbatore, Hyderabad, Nagpur, Gurgaon, Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Indore, etc.
In 2017 after acing both these brands he went back to Pizza and launched four variants unique in their own way.
In 2018 the company rename as Rebel Foods Pvt Ltd.
In July 2019, the company received $125 million investment from Go-Jek, Coatue Management, and Goldman Sachs, and now, operates 235 kitchens across 20 Indian cities.
Barman was earlier the Chief Technology Officer of the company since he joined and stepped down from the same in April 2020 when he started as a Chief Product Officer.
Rebel foods opened about 50 cloud kitchens spread across four cities in a span of 2 years, and by the end of 2020, they had about 320 cloud kitchens with a presence in 35 cities.
It is the largest cloud kitchen restaurant chain in India, operating more than 350 cloud kitchens, as of March 2021.
