Uses FCAW/GMAW welding process, with or without backing, in the flat, horizontal and vertical positions, on both steel and stainless-steel materials. Welds full penetration welds on small diameter pipe using the gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) process. Uses a scissor lift when needed to access welding work at heights. With assistance and supervision, may perform more complicated welding and fit up, using various equipment. Reads appropriate Welding Procedure Specification (WPS) and is capable of interpreting welding variables and assures that all parameters within the WPS are adhered to. Monitors quality of work makes corrective adjustments and reports equipment malfunctions, defective materials or other unusual conditions to Supervisor. Maintains necessary records, completes transactions within the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system and accesses company intranet as needed for work instructions.
