METAL FABRICATOR JOURNEYMAN Bootz & Duke Sign Co. is a premier full-service sign company that has been serving Arizona and National Accounts since 1964. The Journeyman Metal Fabricator will work closely with project management and will be responsible for executing professional, quality fabrications and installations per all current designs and blueprints. Able to work quickly and efficiently while maintaining safety standards. The ideal candidate is an experienced sign shop fabricator, can decipher blueprints, operate equipment (press-breaks, shears, cutting tables, forklifts, etc.), evaluate the functionality of components, and able to grind, weld and analyze notes in database.
METAL FABRICATOR JOURNEYMAN COMPENSATION:
This is a full-time, hourly, non-exempt position.
Hours are Monday - Friday from 6:00am to 2:30pm.
Pay range is $25.00 - $30.00 DOE.
Some OT may be available but is not guaranteed.
METAL FABRICATOR JOURNEYMAN DUTIES & QUALIFICATIONS:
Previous experience fabricating in a sign shop is essential.
Strong working knowledge of metal fabrication and welding.
Experience and ability to operate machinery, including but not limited to chop saws, band saws, press brakes, cutting tables, forklifts, etc.
Proficient with electrical components.
Reading blueprints, legend symbols, scale of plan, and diagrams.
Interpret correct workflow based on order notes.
Thorough grasp of OSHA safety standards and procedures is required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Extensive and prolonged periods of standing; working in low postures; gross and fine manipulation of one's hands and fingers; reach at or below the shoulder; near and far visual acuity; ability to tolerate loud sounds in partially enclosed shop environment; ability to hear and speak and work independently (up to 8 hours).
Additional physical demands include the ability to tolerate temperature shifts and extremes, including exposure to heat and cold (up to 8 hours).
Ability to squat, kneel, bend, stoop, lift, push, pull and reach overhead for prolonged periods.
