Roles and Responsibilities
Work with Shop Foreman and Superintendent to meet production schedule
Provide the best quality and productive work without constant reminder
Perform welding procedure according to order
Fabricate and construct duct segments and attach fittings according to plans
Use hand-welding or flame-cutting equipment to weld or join metals components, or to fill holes, indentations, or seams of fabricated metal products or pipe.
Weld components in flat, vertical or overhead positions. Ignite torches or start power suppliers, and strike arcs by touching electrodes to metals being welded.
Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments, using processes such as gas tungsten arc, gas metal arc, flux-cored arc, plasma arc, shielded metal arc, resistance welding and laser welding.
Recognize, set-up and operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade, such as shielded metal arc and gas metal arc welding equipment.
Examine work pieces for defects and measure work pieces to ensure conformance with specifications.
Check to ensure that each job order is accurate and complete.
Detect faulty operation of equipment or defective materials and notify supervisors.
Communicate with superintendent and management
Follows all safety policies and procedures.
Other such duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Company from time to time.
Qualifications and Requirements
Minimum of 2 years' duct welding (shop or field) to include all the following procedures:
