Certification Requirements Must be qualified in 3-position SMAW carbon steel plate and 3-position FCAW carbon steel plate. Hold a carbon arcing qualification, plus one additional SMAW certification (not carbon steel) and one additional FCAW plate certification (not carbon steel). Hold a SMAW 110-18 6GT Pipe certification, and either a GMAW-P Aluminum certification or 3 SMAW and 3 FCAW pipe/plate certifications. Experience Requirements 4 - 6 years of experience as a Welder in a shipyard. Other Requirements Must be able to work in various environmental conditions including outdoor weather, heights, confined spaces, loud noise, and exposure to airborne particles or fumes. Must be able to wear a respirator as required for specific tasks and maintain compliance with fit testing and respiratory protection protocols. POSITION SUMMARY: The Lead Metal Fabricator is responsible for executing, managing, and supervising all work assigned to their team. The Lead defines specific fabrication techniques and duties associated with the execution of the work. Monitors team labor hours. Responsible for quality and on-time delivery of all products by their team. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for understanding and adhering to the labor budgets for the work that is carried out in the fabrication department.
