The Fabricating Supervisor is responsible for the oversight of machines and personnel associated with finishing activities including folding, gluing, waxing, stripping, and bundling. The Fabricating Supervisor is responsible for managing activities on the assigned shift in an efficient and safe manner.
PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Coordinate activity with the Production Manager and Shift Supervisor to plan and manage shift work orders, ensure quality requirements, and assure an even flow of work through the fabrication department to increase up-time and minimize unscheduled downtime.
Schedule work, coordinate production activities, provide direct oversight of employees, approve time records, communicate and implement company policy. Engage in employee development activities, make recommendations on employee hire, promotion, and disciplinary action.
Maintain a clean, safe and injury-free work environment by ensuring health and safety procedures are understood and executed by all employees.
Conduct employee training on all equipment, protocols, production standards, safety regulations and waste control on an ongoing basis.
Ensure completion of departmental operations within guidelines of continuous improvement policies.
Supervise efficient operation of equipment including the inspection of materials, products and equipment to detect and/or prevent malfunctions.
Analyze fabricating performance, identify opportunities, make recommendations for process and equipment improvement, establish goals and execute strategy.
Participate in production meeting and provide updates as needed.
Verify the quality of the jobs and investigate any customer complaints regarding finishing quality.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or GED.
2+ years of corrugated manufacturing experience.
Ability to work flexible hours when needed.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Some college or manufacturing training.
Previous supervisory experience with training, teambuilding, performance development, and conflict resolution.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Working knowledge of standard corrugated and packaging manufacturing concepts, practices, and procedures including continual improvement processes and safety practices.
Knowledge of the machinery, methods and procedures in the department under supervision.
Working knowledge of manufacturing systems including shop floor software.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle numerous details, deadlines, and requests.
Strong interpersonal skills to effectively lead and communicate with production team and management.

Collaborate with the Fabrication Manager to identify chassis repairs and review build sheets.
Request necessary parts from the parts department to ensure timely project progression.
Perform rust repairs and fabricate custom brackets or mounts as needed.
Align and place vehicle bodies onto frames, fit mockup parts, and bolt components securely.
Weld seams and structural components to specified standards.
Modify parts in accordance with assembly manuals and build sheets.
Drill holes and install components using precise templates and tools.
Gap doors, tailgates, grilles, and other body elements to achieve proper alignment.
Install mockup motors, transmissions, headers, and other critical components.
Build and install cross members, roll cages, exhaust systems, and other structural elements.
Conduct fitment checks for transfer cases and other assemblies to ensure proper clearance.

About the Opportunity:
We are looking for a Metal Fabricator I to join our team in Stuart, FL. In this role, the Metal Fabricator I will learn all the processes to plan, lay out, repair, and install sheet metal products and parts.
Location: Stuart, FL On-Site 1st Shift Monday to Friday 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM.
Responsibilities:
Plan and layout complex sheet metal work and assemblies using equipment such as but not limited to vernier calipers, height gages, pi-tapes, plug gages, micrometers, go/no go gages, thread gages, cylindrical plug and vertical dividing head.
Develop methods, procedures and operation sequences on work of a special design or characteristic.
Proficient in interpreting blueprints to determine how and where to fabricate, assemble and install sheet metal products.
Proficient in measuring, marking dimensions, and lay out material to be installed using tools such as scribes, rulers, calculators, and squares.
Proficient in fastening joints and seams in sheet metal with solder, welds, caulk, bolts, and metal driver clips, ensuring work is done carefully and bonds will last.
Assist in checking parts using specified gages or check parts using furnished fixtures to see that dimensions are being maintained.
Consistently maintain specific tolerances and accurately perform dimensions.
Maintain a neat and orderly work area.
Follow all applicable safety rules and precautions.
Other job-related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
5+ years of relevant experience.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time bases without sponsorship now or in the future. The Company cannot offer employment to visa holders who require employer sponsorship in the future or cannot work now on a full-time basis.
Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations.
Preferred Qualifications:
7+ years relevant experience
Professional sheet metal fabricator certificate
Basic knowledge of specific properties of metals used
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and blueprints
Demonstrate a good mechanical aptitude.
Able to read, write, and speak in standard English.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Essential Functions
Fluent in understanding job specific WPS / PQR's and capable of setting machine up for performance in all positions to certified testing criteria.
Analyze blueprints for welding insignia and the application thereof to assembly components on piping and structural systems.
The ability to identify correctly, measure, hand dress, cut and fit prepare metal surfaces for welding process to be completed per job specific requirements.
Capable of visual observation of pre- and post-welded surfaces; and the interpretation of fulfilled job requirements with micrometer, caliper, and other precision measuring instruments.
Technically proficient in the interpretation of insufficient weld criteria and knowledge to efficiently blend to repair.
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem solver who can understand and follow instruction.
Accountability for completion of daily work assignments while monitoring quality, safety, and health regulations.
Operate overhead cranes and or forklifts.
Complies with all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements and is physically / medically qualified to wear required PPE per OSHA standards.
Responsibilities may require sedentary work, including but not limited to computer operation, video review, classroom or online training, job observations/inspections, and peer work review.

This position operates out of a fabrication facility. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is sometimes exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration.
