Responsibilities:
Fit, align, and prepare steel plates, frames, and structural components
Perform hull and deck repairs, insert renewals, and vessel restoration work
Read and interpret blueprints and marine structural drawings
Use torches, grinders, and fabrication tools for cutting, shaping, and prep
Work with welders and supervisors to meet project requirements
Follow all shipyard safety rules; work in confined spaces and at heights
Requirements:
2-3+ years of shipfitting or plate-fitting experience
Strong knowledge of marine structures and repair methods
Ability to read structural drawings
Proficient with cutting/fitting tools; tack welding a plus
TWIC card preferred; must pass drug screen

Job Description
The Insulator/Metal Fabricator will fabricate products to comply with work order and assignment specifications according to established procedures. Tasks involved in the product fabrication process may include, but may not be limited to, the following:
Key responsibilities
Reading and interpreting blueprints: Must be able to read and understand technical drawings, schematics, and work orders to determine the correct dimensions, materials, and angles required for a specific job.
Metal Fabrication: Creates and shapes metal cladding, vapor barriers, and other protective materials that cover and seal the insulation to protect it from damage and moisture.
Operating machinery: Proficiently and safely operate fabrication equipment, including saws, power shears, and CNC routers, along with handling machinery like forklifts and pallet jacks for moving materials.
Quality control: Assembles, inspects, and checks the quality of fabricated parts to ensure they meet project specifications before being sent to the job site.
Maintaining a safe workspace: Keeps the work area clean and organized and adheres to all safety protocols while operating equipment.
Necessary skills and qualifications
Mechanical skills: Adept at using a variety of hand tools and specialized power equipment for cutting and shaping materials.
Attention to detail: Critical for accurately measuring and fabricating materials according to complex specifications.

The lead will assign work orders to Fitters and Welders in an effective and efficient manner to maximize flow and throughput. Additionally, the Fabrication Lead must prioritize tasks based on committed deadlines. They will monitor all work to ensure that team members perform their activities in accordance with project requirements, safely, and with the highest quality standards.
Effective communication with their supervisor, manager, Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) team, Facilities, Warehouse, and others is essential. All duties must align with EFX's Vision, Mission, Values, and adherence to company policies and procedures.
Principle Responsibilities and Duties
* Ensuring fitters, welders, and helpers have all the necessary tools and materials to complete their tasks.
* Coordinating with the Fabrication Supervisor, Planner, and QA/QC to ensure that all deliverables are executed per the schedule and priority.

* Reviewing scope of work and communicating recommendations of fabrication planned hours to Fabrication Supervisor

* Addressing personnel issues in a timely manner with direct reports in a professional manner, including by not limited to performance, attendance, tardiness, attitude, bullying, productivity, work habits, etc. under the guidance of the Supervisor.
* Leading daily safety meetings with assigned vessel team
* Documenting employee call-ins for vacation, sick time, late-ins, early-outs, etc.; and communicating with Kronos Admin and Supervisor.
* Ensuring devices (Scanners) in their area are On-line at shift end.
* Performing safety responsibilities in your area
* Maintaining and leading the 6S program in your area.
Qualifications
* High School Diploma/GED or 2-year technical diploma/vocational certificate desired
* Minimum of 5-10 years of relevant industrial experience.

Physical Requirements

Required Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years' experience as a Welder using Flux Core (FCAW)
Stick (SMAW) is a plus but not required
Must be able pass 2G/3G Welding Test Flux Core
Must have reliable transportation
Must be willing to work overtime and weekend
Preferred Qualifications:
Solid experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures, such as Flux Core and Stick
Experience with cutting torch and arc gouging
Solid experience using electrical or manual tools, such as saws, squares, calipers and so on
Excellent knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing, such as face-shield and gloves
Good ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings
Agility, professionalism, and close attention to detail
Successful completion of a relevant apprenticeship program is required
Professional Certification, such as AWS welding certificate, will be a bonus

Description
Fabricators are responsible for fabricating and assembling polyethylene pipe to create a variety of customized structures such as: fittings, valves, T's, Y's, elbows, aqua shields, geothermal vaults, manholes, dual containment units, pumps, gas aeration lines and similar structures that meet customer specifications by performing the following duties:
* Read and interpret blueprints, product drawings and pic ticket orders to determine materials, tools and equipment needed to complete work
* Follows quality control procedures to ensure that the assembled, fabricated product meets customer specifications
* Upholds accurate records of materials used on "ticket"; locates and pulls required materials from inventory
* Maintains clean work area and equipment; following safety procedures concerning use of equipment and materials to maintain safe working conditions
* Operates ISCO's fusion and fast fusion equipment, cranes and forklifts
* Utilizes a variety of hand tools, saws and cutting equipment and performs other related duties as assigned
* Basic computer skills
