Fabricator job description

• Will be helping load and unload the laser along with other machines.
• Work off of a list each day that prioritizes which pieces need to be done first.
• Prep small to large pieces of metal before it's put in the paint booth.
• Use power tools to sand and buff pieces of excess metal off the parts
• Lifting up to 50lbs of material onto a paint line. If it's more than 50lbs they use an overhead crane.
• Complete quality assurance checks to ensure the materials are loaded correctly
• Complete another quality assurance check before sending to shipping department.

• Tack Welding- Multi-pass (NAVSEA Technical Publication 39074-AQ-GIB-010/248)
• Burning-Oxygen/Propane Burning Torch.
• Heating-Oxygen/Propane Heating Torch
• Ability to comprehend complex structural assembly drawings, blueprints, and sketches to include weld symbols, material types, datum and reference lines.
• Use vibratory tools (grinders and needle guns).
• Ability to layoff piece parts for fabrication and assembly.

Job Requirements

• Four years commercial/naval experience as a first-class Ship Fitter.
• Familiarity with OSHA regulations relative to the shipbuilding industry
• Must be able to pass a lifetime background check and hair follicle drug test (6 months)

We are looking for an exceptional Optics Fabricator who can:

+ Run multiple manual spindles to polish optical materials ie: CaF2, Fusilica, BK7 etc.

+ Make pitch laps and cut pitch laps for desired optical corrections.

+ Test optical parts using Interferometers, Zygos, NuView to hold metrology specs from engineering drawings.

+ Perform SQ inspection.

What will you bring to the team is:

+ Prefer 1-3 years of related experience.
