Perform core welding work while providing direction and communications to other employees to ensure that the parts flow meets or exceeds the customer requirements.

Responsibilities:
Operate all welding equipment and techniques to perform completely and independently specific operations as outlined in the methods and process sheets.
Lead, guide and direct department work flow and personnel as needed to meet customer schedule.

Read and interpret blueprints and/or drawings to determine the specific welding requirements
Check welds visually and dimensionally with precision measuring instruments for conformance to blueprints and specifications
Responsible for the manufacture and maintenance of component parts and fixtures as required
Work requires extreme accuracy with very close tolerances and critical dimensions with working knowledge of geometric tolerances.
Work with manufacturing engineers on the manufacturability of prototypes with asking preliminary questions to avoid costly mistakes and lost time.
Inspect completed work with a variety of measuring equipment such as height gages, micrometers, verniers, dial indicators and CNC coordinate inspection machine.
Maintain a neat and orderly work area.
Lead Six Sigma and Lean manufacturing principles within the designated work cells
Share knowledge willingly and mentor lower level employees
Subject Matter Expert on all equipment in center
Adhere to all company policies and procedures and drive adherence to policy and procedure with direct staff

Required Qualifications:
