This tourism based business has a 65 acre farm on Johns Island, two 5000 sqft stables in Downtown Charleston, 20+ carriages, 30+ horses, farm equipment, vehicles, and custom fabrication/ repairs needed weekly. Looking for someone who can take initiative and tackle small projects on their own, work in a team on larger projects, and help manage the daily needs of a fast paced business. Putting a title like maintenance, farm work, fabricator, mechanic, etc is to narrow for the broad scope of work that happens in this position. Having a broad skill set and a can do/ figure it out mind set is a must. This job works around animals and having any experience with horses can be a benefit but not necessary. Flexible schedule/ competitive wages/ great company to work for. Valid drivers license and having the ability to drive a truck and trailer is necessary. REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION: Must be a US Citizen RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION INCLUDE: Reports directly to the Weld Supervisor. Must be able to set up welding machine in accordance with and full understand of WPS. Must be able to pass D1.1 bend test for 1.0" A-36 plate. Must be able to pass 1688 HY80 bend test for 2” plate Must be able to use grinder for proper pre-weld joint preparation and post-weld clean-up. Must be able to interpret weld symbols and build prints. Must be able to VT own welds Must be able to pass Welder Workmanship Training Must be adept with hand tools including measuring devices. Verifies conformance of work piece to specifications. Must be able to distinguish varying thicknesses of metal materials. Assist senior Welder/Fabricators when needed. Qualifications and Education Requirements Must be able to lift as much as 50lbs and have the ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crawl, walk and stand for extended periods of time.
