Job Description Lead Maintenance and Fabrication Department(s): Maintenance Reports to: President Consults with: Other Management Terms of Employment: Full Time Overall Responsibility: Lead the preventive maintenance program, repairs and process modifications of facility structures and equipment. Sustain integrity and proper function of processing equipment and components. Verify that processing equipment is maintained according to manufacturer specifications or regulatory requirements. Schedule / perform preventive maintenance tasks on all processing equipment as necessary to maintain safe and legal products. Perform preoperative / post maintenance verification inspections to ensure that equipment is intact and is free from build-up or other contaminants and as necessary for post maintenance / pre-operational line clearance. Verify the function of processing equipment and product testing equipment according to the food safety program (i.e., magnets, etc.). Process Modifications / Equipment Replacement: Verify sanitary design standards are utilized when performing process modifications or equipment replacements. Manage the inspection approval process when commissioning new processing equipment. Work with management to verify that calibration records are current for food processing and product testing equipment. POSITION SCOPE The Welder is a safety sensitive position that will perform various welding duties on the manufacturing of new equipment and the refurbishing of heavy equipment in a climate-controlled shop under the direction of the Shop Foreman. Welders work Monday through Friday, 7:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Occasionally, there may be some overnight travel required with this position. About The Role Assemble and sub-arc weld beams for use in the manufacturing of trailers. Responsibilities Read and properly interpret blueprints for specified beams. Assemble beams to established quality standards for the sub arc weld process within acceptable limits set by TK. Perform tack, zipper, flat, horizontal, and submerged arc welds within acceptable quality standards set by TK. Assist Lead Welder in Beam Department to effectively and efficiently produce beams. Operate overhead and jib cranes safely and efficiently. Maintain acceptable attendance per company guidelines. Follow all safety procedures and regulations. Perform other duties as assigned.
