Employees in this position work with a variety of materials (e.g., plastics, rubber, aluminum) in experimental projects. Working with autoclaves and ovens used for curing pre-preg materials and coordinating the work with higher graded shop employees.
Position Responsibilities:
Obtain work from sources (e.g., lead, work orders, shop requests,) for daily work assignments.
Perform planned work, pre-cure rework of materials and post-cure rework (e.g., thermal plastics, rubber, bonded assemblies) as required.
Operate a computer to access programs required to perform job functions as required.
Work with higher grade employees to read/interpret blueprints (e.g., tooling, engineering, production) and specifications, as required.
Calculate math dimensions working with sample parts, sketches or verbal instructions for fabricating details, as required.
Work with higher grade employees to provide production/tooling assistance to layout dimensions and /or holes when tools are not available to production shop.
Operate hand/power tools (e.g., jitterbug, dotco) for cutting or trimming, as required.
Work with materials to perform bonding/curing (e.g., thermal plastic, rubber, resins, adhesives) in the experimental and production lay up process, as required.
Use precision measuring tools (e.g., calipers, scales, micrometers) to check work performed.
Work with personnel (e.g., lead, planning, engineering, supervision) to resolve tooling issues, as required.
Use personal protective equipment when using chemicals (e.g., resins, release agents, paints, sealant, solvents) required in the fabrication process.
Maintain required certifications used in the fabrication process.
Use/operate computer programs to operate laser projectors, ply cutters and ultra sonic knife, as required to complete work.
Operate or assist in the use of lowerraters, cranes, robots, automated former and AGVs (automated guided vehicles) to move tools and materials as needed.

Fill out Objective Quality Evidence (OQE) forms.

As an Interiors Fabricator and Assembler, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety in the production of aircraft interior components. Position Responsibilities:
Fabricate and assemble aircraft interior panels and assemblies using established processes and procedures.
Work with materials such as adhesives, resins, honeycomb core, carpet fiberglass, and aluminum; cut, layout, and process raw materials accordingly.
Install fittings, including latches, hinges, and brackets, and prepare panels for adhesive application through sweeping, sanding, and cleaning.
Apply decorative finishes following established procedures and complete bending and assembly using jigs, fixtures, and templates as needed.
Create vinyl laminate layups based on patterns and sequences developed by higher classified employees.
Hook up and adjust thermocouple leads and vacuum controls, operate platens, and adjust temperatures for bonding decorative vinyl laminates and panels.
Perform routing, drilling, and riveting tasks as required.
Work from drawings, specifications, and verbal instructions, ensuring quality through visual checks and in-process rework.
Maintain necessary records and operate vacuum platen tables, loading and unloading ovens to accomplish bonding operations.
Utilize various shop power tools, including routers, table saws, band saws, and drill presses.
Perform qualified wire routing on prefabricated wire bundles and oxy installations.
Bleach materials to match color samples and cut miters on plastic or metal materials for assembly fit.
Operate information systems as required to perform assigned tasks.
Physical Demands and Potential Hazards:
Perform physical tasks that include lifting weights ranging from 10-15 lbs to 15-35 lbs.
Engage in various movements such as reaching, handling, turning, twisting, lifting, lowering, climbing, balancing, bending, kneeling, crouching, and squatting.
Work in environments that may involve contact with metals, solvents, and coolants.
Operate in proximity to moving parts and tools, sharp cutters, and potential slipping hazards.
Adapt to varying noise levels and atmospheric conditions.
Utilize personal safety gear to protect face/eyes, hands/arms, and feet while performing job duties.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Lead Metal Fabricator is responsible for executing, managing, and supervising all work assigned to their team. The Lead defines specific fabrication techniques and duties associated with the execution of the work. Monitors team labor hours. Responsible for quality and on-time delivery of all products by their team.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for understanding and adhering to the labor budgets for the work that is carried out in the fabrication department.
Accountable for executing to planned labor budgets. If the labor budgets are not sufficient, discussing why and suggesting alternate labor budgets that are signed off by the Shop Supervisor and Project Manager before the work is performed.

Responsible for maintaining a safe working environment and adhering to company policy for safe work practices. Responsible for creating and monitoring a Job Hazard Analysis when indicated.
Responsible for maintaining the current 5S program and any other housekeeping responsibilities as set forth by Ownership or Production Management.
Responsible for training members of your team to improve the company's capabilities and efficiency.

QUALIFICATIONS:
3 years previous Metal Fabrication experience required, 5 years preferred
