The Fabrication Lead is a working leader responsible for coordinating daily activities on the shop floor, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency in all fabrication processes. This role bridges the gap between shop floor personnel (welders, fitters) and management, supporting the Production Manager with operational oversight while still actively participating in production tasks. In addition to the role itself, employees choose Weldall because we offer: Family-owned and operated leadership for over 50 years, with a long-term commitment to our people A stable work environment supported by a diverse customer base across multiple industries World-class benefits, including direct primary care at no cost, free diagnostic testing, and select surgical procedures No employee premiums for dental or vision coverage Structured onboarding and internal training programs that support skill development and long-term career growth A safety-first, team-oriented culture built on consistency, respect, and professionalism Shift Availability Openings are available on 2nd shift Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Including the following, however, additional duties may apply as required) Performs all tasks in a safe and responsible manner Performs welding operations accurately and efficiently in accordance with established procedures Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and work instructions to complete projects to specification Follow welding procedure specifications (WPS), drawings, and company standards Apply working knowledge of welding processes (Flux Core, Metal Core, GMAW, Sub Arc, etc.) Set up, adjust, and operate welding equipment, including wire feed speed, voltage, and other parameters Use measuring tools and gauges to verify dimensions, alignment, and weld placement Inspect completed welds and parts to ensure quality, dimensional accuracy, and conformance Identify and report nonconforming work, quality issues, or production concerns to supervision Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and other material-handling equipment to position and move components safely Maintain welding equipment, tools, and work area in a clean, safe, and serviceable condition Work collaboratively with supervisors and team members to resolve issues and meet production goals Requirements: Education and Experience Minimum of 2 years of welding experience; experience with structural weldments preferred Experience welding to AWS D1.1 standards preferred Knowledge of welding symbols and blueprint interpretation preferred Experience with welding processes (Flux Core, Metal Core, GMAW, Sub Arc, etc.) Experience performing pre-heats and stack welding preferred Demonstrated ability to weld material 1/2-inch thickness or greater High school diploma or equivalent preferred; equivalent work experience considered Physical Demands Ability to move or transfer products with an overhead crane and forklift. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. when required. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
