The OCOM preclinical curriculum consists of a clinical framework for the integration and application of the sciences that are foundational to understanding clinical problems. The curriculum is designed to enhance long-term memory through application, repetition and recall. As a result, students will become self-directed life-long learners that are adept at critical thinking skills. The Clinical Skills and Clinical Simulation courses integrate selected areas of practice-based learning and improvement, systems-based practice, professionalism, interpersonal communication skills, and the scientific method relating to the practice of osteopathic medicine to develop the student into a caring and competent osteopathic physician.
