LAIKA facilities assistant job description

The Facilities Maintenance Services Assistant is responsible for supporting maintenance services with a primary emphasis on routine scheduled checks on building systems and equipment. Additional responsibilities include material handling, deliveries, and shipping/receiving support. This position is key in supporting safe and reliable functionality of equipment and systems across the studio.
Job Functions
Perform preventative maintenance tasks on studio equipment and vehicles. Maintain the service and condition of key areas such as loading, recycling and pickup stations. Perform daily exterior inspection of the grounds and exterior areas. Support and assist Facilities Engineer. Inventory and stock key supply areas. Support Building, Employee and Production Services group as needed. Make deliveries as necessary using studio van or box truck. Coordinate and escort service vendors coming to the studio.

Qualifications
1-2 years of maintenance and/or warehouse operations and a willingness to learn. Ability to troubleshoot in a variety of situations, while being resourceful in determining solutions. Ability to work well under pressure within given deadlines. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with all levels within the organization. A familiarity with power tools and simple construction. Valid Oregon driver's license with proof of insurance and access to a reliable vehicle for running errands. Forklift and scissor lift certifications or the willingness to get certified.
