REFORM is hiring a Director, Technology & Facilities, who will serve as the sole technology leader, overseeing all aspects of IT infrastructure, systems, and support. This individual will be responsible for ensuring the stability, security, and efficiency of our technology platforms while supporting staff across the organization. Systems Administration & Operations (30%):

DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS:
A Director of Facilities III is responsible for providing administrative direction to a School District's facilities department. The work is performed according to established policies and procedures and in accordance with applicable State, local, and federal laws, rules and regulations which apply to school district facility operations and maintenance. The majority of activities are performed in the office, but the incumbent will spend time at various work sites ensuring that work is being performed and completed in an efficient manner. This position differs from Director of Facilities II in that the incumbent has primarily administrative responsibilities, while the Director of Facilities II has supervisory responsibilities over subordinate supervisors and staff. A Director of Facilities III may have an Assistant Director of Facilities III to assist with the management of day-to-day activities. TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES:

Works with construction managers, architects and/or engineers to develop, implement and complete capital improvement projects and other long-term plans;
Ensures that preventive maintenance is performed and meets regularly with subordinates to discuss repairs on equipment, including plumbing, HVAC and electrical systems;
Ensures that custodial, maintenance and if applicable, transportation employees receive necessary in-service training;
Reviews the School District's expenditures from the prior year and assists the Superintendent with the budget process by forecasting and planning for the upcoming budget;

Inspects painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and other mechanical maintenance and construction work performed by private contractors, custodial, or maintenance employees to ensure work is in compliance with contract specifications, as well as, applicable codes and regulations;
Ensures that inspections are performed and tests of security systems, safety lighting, fire extinguishers, fire alarm system, doors, and eyewash stations are completed to ensure proper operation and compliance with applicable codes and regulations;
Recommends staffing to administrators and is also responsible for interviewing, hiring, evaluating and disciplining departmental personnel;
Establishes and/or enforces policies and procedures regarding work schedules, vacation, personal and sick leave requests and ensures employees have adequate leave accruals;
Responds to inquiries from employees, school district administrators and the public regarding school district buildings and grounds activities;
Attends monthly School Board meetings and other committee meetings, as required, to address issues specific to the buildings and grounds department and where applicable, the transportation department.

POSITION OVERVIEW
New York Hall of Science (NYSCI) seeks an experienced Director of Facilities to ensure smooth day to day building operations and service excellence. Reporting to the SVP of Operations, and working dynamically across departments and organizational units, the Director will oversee all aspects of Facilities, Maintenance and Security, providing supervision and mentorship to a team of Building Maintenance, Custodial and Security professionals, create and implement best in class standard operating procedures, and emergency/safety plans, and help to ensure the overall vitality and safety of NYSCI campus and grounds.
The Director will be an experienced building operator with a track record in cultural and/or educational institutions, with expertise in management systems, building trades, construction project management, maintenance standards, and security and safety protocols, including Fire Life Safety. The Director also manages a portfolio of vendor relationships and serves as the main point of contact with external contractors and service providers (e.g. HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Elevator, Grounds, etc.). PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Building Operations
Ensure operational excellence as related to the best-in-class of Museum facility and security services
Assure departmental organization and systems reliably sustain facility operations, in full compliance with all regulatory and safety standards
Ensure the Facilities department is effectively structured to serve the Museum's needs best, ensure safety and security, and meet operational financial objectives

Create, monitor, and adhere to budgets and schedules for all facility services and capital projects
Review and submit invoicing for Facilities and Security Departments
Provide oversight on all building facilities operations and security projects, including leading project meetings.
Determine and assess the scope of the project and function as the primary communication point between all parties internally and externally
Develop and implement policies and standardized operating procedures, including Emergency Preparedness and Disaster Management Procedures
Personally oversee the Facilities and Security response to any potential disasters and/or emergencies
Direct and control construction projects to ensure completion according to plans, specifications, schedules, budgets, and contractual commitments.
Ensure compliance with all requisite regulations concerning employee and public health and safety and building codes.
Keep current with security protocols, manage relationships and training with security vendors, and ensure good customer service from security and facilities staff.
Coordinate with federal, state, and local agencies governing the facilities' operation.
Ensure compliance with all human resource and workplace standards for department employees.
Maintain as-built plans for the entire facility.
Cross-departmental coordination & Collaboration
Coordinate building activities with the on-site Cafe and ensure compliance with the operating agreement

Assist with event planning and logistics by participating in regular events and production meetings
Coordinate with multiple departments to plan and organize operational event needs, ensuring setup is complete by the predetermined time
Schedule and assist with event vendor needs , including loading dock, electrical, potable water, etc.
Work with program areas during events regarding ingress/egress and ADA compliance, and related security, back-of-house activities, and preparing, filing, and maintaining temporary security and custodial needs
Collaborate and take the lead with Visitor Experience and Exhibit Experience to ensure that all emergency preparedness roles, manuals, and training are up to date
Serve on the Cross Departmental Safety Committee, contributing to a culture of safety and well-being at NYSCI; provide guidance and recommendations per operating plans
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Manage the Facilities, Maintenance, and Security staff, including daily, weekly/bi-weekly check-ins with direct reports and the entire team, performance management, and development
Create schedules for the Security, Facilities, and Maintenance staff, to facilitate programming and special events needs
Implement and steward an ongoing training and credentialing program for Facilities, Custodial, and Security Staff

We're seeking an organized, motivated, and hands-on operations leader to help oversee our Brooklyn facility. The Assistant Facility Operations Manager will support the Facility Operations Manager in ensuring all aspects of receiving, processing, and shipping run efficiently, safely, and profitably.
This role is ideal for someone with strong floor leadership experience who's eager to take the next step in their operations career. The Assistant Manager will be deeply involved in day-to-day execution, driving accountability, supporting supervisors and team leads, and ensuring quality and throughput targets are consistently met.
This position is based full-time at our Brooklyn facility, which operates Monday-Friday, 7:30am to 4:00pm (excluding public holidays). The team comprises IT Technicians (data wiping, functionality testing, grading, and repairs), inbound associates (receiving, sorting, serializing), and outbound associates (cleaning, photography, picking, packing, and shipping).
Key Responsibilities
Daily Operations & Execution
Support the Facility Operations Manager in overseeing daily production across inbound, processing, and outbound departments.
Ensure all production goals are achieved efficiently, cost-effectively, and with minimal downtime.
Monitor and coordinate workflow across teams to maintain smooth handoffs and on-time order fulfillment.
Troubleshoot operational issues in real time and implement corrective actions as needed.
Optimize production sequencing, resource allocation, and material flow to maximize throughput and minimize bottlenecks.
Leverage real-time data and floor visibility tools to adjust staffing and equipment utilization for peak efficiency.
Team Leadership & Development
Lead and support supervisors in managing team leads, fostering accountability to daily production goals and performance standards.
Provide coaching, feedback, and support to team members to build skills and foster engagement.
Help lead shift huddles, communicate production goals, and ensure clarity of expectations across the floor.
Promote a positive, safety-focused, and inclusive team culture.
Develop team capability in Lean and continuous improvement practices to empower proactive problem-solving.
Drive performance ownership at every level by reinforcing throughput, quality, and safety KPIs in daily communication.
Quality & Safety
Maintain high standards of product quality and process consistency throughout the facility.
Partner with the Quality and Safety teams to uphold compliance with company standards and local regulations.
Act as a role model for safe work practices and support ongoing safety initiatives and training.
Integrate quality and safety checks into production flow to reduce rework, improve first-pass yield, and sustain continuous throughput.
Performance & Reporting
Track and report daily production metrics (output, rework, throughput) to help identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
Partner with the Facility Operations Manager to develop and execute plans that improve labor efficiency and cost per unit processed.
Assist in scheduling and headcount planning based on workload forecasts.
Analyze throughput data to pinpoint constraints and implement tactical adjustments that increase units processed per labor hour.
Support capacity modeling and scenario planning to align production targets with available resources and demand.
Process Improvement & Collaboration
Identify workflow inefficiencies and contribute ideas for improvement to enhance speed, accuracy, and profitability.
Support implementation of new systems or tools that increase visibility and operational performance.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Supply Chain, Finance, and Sales to ensure smooth execution and accurate order fulfillment.
Lead initiatives focused on line balancing, waste reduction, and standard work to increase throughput consistency.
Partner with Engineering and Continuous Improvement teams to pilot and scale production enhancements (automation, layout redesign, process optimization).
Champion data-driven decision-making by using KPIs, root-cause analysis, and visual management to sustain performance gains.
We're Ideally Seeking
4+ years of experience in operations, warehousing, manufacturing, or a related field, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
Demonstrated ability to manage and motivate hourly and salaried employees in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Strong understanding of production workflows, inventory management, and quality control principles.
Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills; ability to prioritize competing demands and maintain composure under pressure.
Proficiency with ERP systems, Excel, and Google Workspace tools.
Strong written and verbal communication skills; bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent professional experience.

5. Oversee and evaluate all Districts facilities management and operations.
6. Oversee the development and maintain comprehensive facilities Long Range Facilities Plan and Master Plan incorporating all facilities and real estate assets, advise executive management on strategic and tactical facility planning and/or development, facility space use and other matters involving the use of physical assets, ensure that the Master Plan remains consistent with the Districts overall strategic plan.
7. Develop and manage annual budgets for all departments under the positions oversight.

POSITION OVERVIEW

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop and maintain a preventative maintenance calendar for the assigned sites.
Supervise contracted work and obtain and submit documentation of completed repairs to Central Office as work is completed.
Ensure utilization of Building Engines by all sites or other identified software to document maintenance service requests and completed work.
Ensure the completion of Service Requests through assignment by the maintenance supervisor
Ensure timely turnover of vacated residence units within specified timeframes
Ensure par levels of repair materials and cleaning supplies are available through coordination with purchasing department
Conduct weekly inspections of the building grounds to ensure that it maintained in a safe and secure manner and is accessible to residents, staff and visitors
Provide regular repair and maintenance updates to the Program Director, and Vice President of Operations.
Required to be the primary corporate representative, the emergency telephone contact, possibility of being contacted 24-hours per day in emergency situations as well as be responsive to the field staff by communicating in a professional tone for assigned sites.

The Real Estate team who is tasked with maintaining and expanding S:US' large and diverse Real Estate portfolio is seeking a Director of Facilities & Central Maintenance to join our growing team! Our goal is to fulfill S:US' commitment to reduce homelessness and provide a life of purpose by ensuring all of our residents have a safe, clean, affordable place to call home and all our staff have the right work environment to carry out the mission.
The Director of Maintenance will be responsible for the effective and efficient maintenance and physical safety of more than 150 residential buildings, offices and clinics across the four boroughs. On-call availability outside of regular working hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to address facility issues as they arise. The selected candidate will report directly to VP of Facilities & Leasing while leading a diverse team of maintenance professionals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage the operations of the Facility Maintenance Department to ensure efficiency in meeting the ongoing maintenance requirements of all S:US' facilities, to include:
Administration of the Yardi work order system.
Effective deployment of S:US' internal maintenance staff.
Efficient use of the vehicle fleet for business needs only.
Prudent and controlled use of vendor services.
Manage and control purchases made by the facilities department, within budget.
Engage the team in continuous learning and regulatory compliance.
Adhere to annual budget targets.
Oversee the daily upkeep of agency facilities by on-site staff, to include:
Physical plant.
Mechanical operations.
Property maintenance including housekeeping standards.
Landscape and external appearance.
Ensure the maintenance team is trained for their assignments and has an appropriate mix of skills.
Submit staff performance evaluations on a timely basis.
Proactively monitor staff time and attendance.
Continually stress health and safety standards to be adhered to by maintenance team.
Monitor accidents and injuries patterns and put in place mitigation steps to prevent occurrences.
Establish a proactive preventive building maintenance plan for all S:US facilities. Particular focus must be given to integrity of building infrastructure and major plant. (Roofs, egress routes, safety systems, boilers and AC units).
Ensure coverage for potential agency emergencies, 24 hours, 7 days a week, including the congregate facilities and scattered site apartments.
Participate in and lead renovation projects for existing buildings. Develop scope of work for renovation projects requiring outside vendors.
Ensure that projects meet city and state building codes.
Ensure that construction materials and equipment comply with S:US' operational specifications.
Ensure projects are tracked to be completed on time and on budget. Where variances exist, signal them to Executive Management at a very early stage.
Monitor fire safety equipment to ensure operation and compliance: fire panels, smoke alarms, carbon monoxide detectors, sprinkler systems, fire pumps.
Internal Collaboration and Reporting
Work closely with the maintenance and program service departments on the day-to-day operations of S:US' large and diverse portfolio.
Conduct daily visits to S:US properties to collaborate with vendors and engage with the maintenance team.

Qualifications
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Associate Degree Required; Bachelor's Degree preferred;
7-10 years of experience in working as a supervisor in facilities management position managing at least 10 maintenance personnel;
Competency is Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel;
Valid Driver's License; and
Willingness to travel within the 5 boroughs all day and night in case of emergencies.

Job Summary
Under the supervision of the General Manager the Maintenance Specialist is responsible for ensuring the functionality of the venue prior, during, and after concerts and events. The Maintenance Specialist will perform various maintenance tasks such as painting, plumbing, electrical, heating/ air conditioning systems or construction tasks as they arise to make sure the venue is looking and functioning to its best potential. This individual will oversee daily, weekly, monthly scheduled cleaning and various assigned maintenance projects.
Essential Functions
Perform daily, event and regularly scheduled cleaning and maintenance projects. Responsible for the overall maintenance of the venue, including: carpet repair/cleaning, painting of interior/exterior, elevator repair, bathroom maintenance, upkeep of air-conditioning and heating, electrical and plumbing work, other repairs/maintenance as needed.
Perform duties as directed by Manager to maintain all facility equipment in good working condition.
Assist with inspecting systems throughout the facility to detect malfunctions and determine a solution for repair.
Participates in developing standard procedures for maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of venue and all associated assets.
Assist with the purchase of work materials as needed or as directed.
Work with Manager to schedule and supervise part time cleaners according to venue event schedule.
May be responsible for coordinating with outside vendors on repair and maintenance work, building set props and decorations and assisting with advancement of production as needed.
Required Qualifications
Must have immediate knowledge of electrical systems and plumbing systems - National Electrical Code a plus
Organized with previous supervision experience
Able to meet tight deadlines and work effectively in a high-pressure environment
Must be able to work flexible schedule, including nights, weekends and some holidays
Must be able to climb, crawl, bend, and stoop with or without reasonable accommodation.
Basic computer skills preferred.
Payscale: $21.42
