REFORM is hiring a Director, Technology & Facilities, who will serve as the sole technology leader, overseeing all aspects of IT infrastructure, systems, and support. This individual will be responsible for ensuring the stability, security, and efficiency of our technology platforms while supporting staff across the organization. Systems Administration & Operations (30%):

DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS:
A Director of Facilities III is responsible for providing administrative direction to a School District's facilities department. The work is performed according to established policies and procedures and in accordance with applicable State, local, and federal laws, rules and regulations which apply to school district facility operations and maintenance. The majority of activities are performed in the office, but the incumbent will spend time at various work sites ensuring that work is being performed and completed in an efficient manner. This position differs from Director of Facilities II in that the incumbent has primarily administrative responsibilities, while the Director of Facilities II has supervisory responsibilities over subordinate supervisors and staff. A Director of Facilities III may have an Assistant Director of Facilities III to assist with the management of day-to-day activities. TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES:

Discusses capital projects, maintenance, repair and operational needs with school administrator(s);
Works with construction managers, architects and/or engineers to develop, implement and complete capital improvement projects and other long-term plans;
Ensures that preventive maintenance is performed and meets regularly with subordinates to discuss repairs on equipment, including plumbing, HVAC and electrical systems;
Ensures that custodial, maintenance and if applicable, transportation employees receive necessary in-service training;
Reviews the School District's expenditures from the prior year and assists the Superintendent with the budget process by forecasting and planning for the upcoming budget;
Approves purchase requests of cleaning supplies, fuel and parts for equipment and buildings;
Inspects painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and other mechanical maintenance and construction work performed by private contractors, custodial, or maintenance employees to ensure work is in compliance with contract specifications, as well as, applicable codes and regulations;
Ensures that inspections are performed and tests of security systems, safety lighting, fire extinguishers, fire alarm system, doors, and eyewash stations are completed to ensure proper operation and compliance with applicable codes and regulations;
Recommends staffing to administrators and is also responsible for interviewing, hiring, evaluating and disciplining departmental personnel;
Establishes and/or enforces policies and procedures regarding work schedules, vacation, personal and sick leave requests and ensures employees have adequate leave accruals;
Responds to inquiries from employees, school district administrators and the public regarding school district buildings and grounds activities;
Attends monthly School Board meetings and other committee meetings, as required, to address issues specific to the buildings and grounds department and where applicable, the transportation department.

POSITION OVERVIEW
New York Hall of Science (NYSCI) seeks an experienced Director of Facilities to ensure smooth day to day building operations and service excellence. Reporting to the SVP of Operations, and working dynamically across departments and organizational units, the Director will oversee all aspects of Facilities, Maintenance and Security, providing supervision and mentorship to a team of Building Maintenance, Custodial and Security professionals, create and implement best in class standard operating procedures, and emergency/safety plans, and help to ensure the overall vitality and safety of NYSCI campus and grounds.
The Director will be an experienced building operator with a track record in cultural and/or educational institutions, with expertise in management systems, building trades, construction project management, maintenance standards, and security and safety protocols, including Fire Life Safety. The Director also manages a portfolio of vendor relationships and serves as the main point of contact with external contractors and service providers (e.g. HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Elevator, Grounds, etc.). Successful candidates will also demonstrate exceptional team leadership abilities, project management and relationship building skills, with an emphasis on collaboration and working across departments.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Building Operations
Ensure operational excellence as related to the best-in-class of Museum facility and security services
Assure departmental organization and systems reliably sustain facility operations, in full compliance with all regulatory and safety standards
Ensure the Facilities department is effectively structured to serve the Museum's needs best, ensure safety and security, and meet operational financial objectives
Ensure all HVAC, MEP, fire/life-safety, and building control systems are fully functioning, compliant, and properly maintained
Oversee all routine maintenance and repair work throughout Museum facilities, including regularly evaluating systems, identifying needs, and scheduling and supervising work
Manage and troubleshoot issues related to the building, including preparing preventative maintenance contracts, supervising vendors and contractors across multiple trades, and communicating necessary maintenance to relevant Museum staff
Create, monitor, and adhere to budgets and schedules for all facility services and capital projects
Review and submit invoicing for Facilities and Security Departments
Provide oversight on all building facilities operations and security projects, including leading project meetings.
Determine and assess the scope of the project and function as the primary communication point between all parties internally and externally
Develop and implement policies and standardized operating procedures, including Emergency Preparedness and Disaster Management Procedures
Personally oversee the Facilities and Security response to any potential disasters and/or emergencies
Direct and control construction projects to ensure completion according to plans, specifications, schedules, budgets, and contractual commitments.
Ensure compliance with all requisite regulations concerning employee and public health and safety and building codes.
Keep current with security protocols, manage relationships and training with security vendors, and ensure good customer service from security and facilities staff.
Coordinate with federal, state, and local agencies governing the facilities' operation.
Ensure compliance with all human resource and workplace standards for department employees.
Maintain as-built plans for the entire facility.
Cross-departmental coordination & Collaboration
Coordinate building activities with the on-site Cafe and ensure compliance with the operating agreement
Support programming by providing adequate facility staffing and ensuring facility condition requirements are met
Assist with event planning and logistics by participating in regular events and production meetings
Coordinate with multiple departments to plan and organize operational event needs, ensuring setup is complete by the predetermined time
Schedule and assist with event vendor needs , including loading dock, electrical, potable water, etc.
Work with program areas during events regarding ingress/egress and ADA compliance, and related security, back-of-house activities, and preparing, filing, and maintaining temporary security and custodial needs
Collaborate and take the lead with Visitor Experience and Exhibit Experience to ensure that all emergency preparedness roles, manuals, and training are up to date
Serve on the Cross Departmental Safety Committee, contributing to a culture of safety and well-being at NYSCI; provide guidance and recommendations per operating plans
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Manage the Facilities, Maintenance, and Security staff, including daily, weekly/bi-weekly check-ins with direct reports and the entire team, performance management, and development
Create schedules for the Security, Facilities, and Maintenance staff, to facilitate programming and special events needs
Implement and steward an ongoing training and credentialing program for Facilities, Custodial, and Security Staff
Serve as a knowledge holder for time and attendance policies under the Collective Bargaining Agreement
Other related duties and responsibilities, as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Information Management, Engineering, a related field, and/or its work experience equivalent
7+ years of senior management experience in facilities management, building operations, preferably in a cultural institution, university, or public-facing organization with high visitation
Demonstrated ability to effectively project manage multiple streams of work (construction, renovation, maintenance)
Knowledge of Federal, State, and Local compliance and safety standards, and industry best practices
Proven track record of excellence in leadership with the ability to build motivation and teamwork in direct reports
Experience with building management systems
Prior experience managing a unionized workforce
Experience developing specifications for contracted facilities projects, preventative maintenance, and vendor management

Ensure that projects meet city and state building codes.
Ensure that construction materials and equipment comply with S:US' operational specifications.
Ensure projects are tracked to be completed on time and on budget. Where variances exist, signal them to Executive Management at a very early stage.
Monitor fire safety equipment to ensure operation and compliance: fire panels, smoke alarms, carbon monoxide detectors, sprinkler systems, fire pumps.
Internal Collaboration and Reporting
Work closely with the maintenance and program service departments on the day-to-day operations of S:US' large and diverse portfolio.
Conduct daily visits to S:US properties to collaborate with vendors and engage with the maintenance team.

Qualifications
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Associate Degree Required; Bachelor's Degree preferred;
7-10 years of experience in working as a supervisor in facilities management position managing at least 10 maintenance personnel;
Competency is Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel;
Valid Driver's License; and
Willingness to travel within the 5 boroughs all day and night in case of emergencies.

The Facility Space Planner & Project Manager supports the planning, design, and delivery of workplace initiatives within the corporate headquarters. This role serves as a key liaison between business units, HR, IT, Corporate Real Estate and Facilities to ensure that space solutions and projects align with company strategy, branding, and operational goals. The position combines analytical space planning expertise with hands-on project management to create a high-performing, flexible, and engaging workplace environment.
The ideal candidate possesses strong AutoCAD and analytical skills, an understanding of design and furniture systems, and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with HQ counterparts. Bilingual proficiency in English and Korean is preferred to support coordination and communication with Korea-based teams but not required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Headquarters Space Planning, Occupancy Management and Strategy
Lead the development and maintenance of floor plans in AutoCAD, seating charts, and adjacency studies for all headquarters departments
Partner with department leaders and HR to align workspace assignments with headcount projections, hybrid work strategies, and business growth.
Conduct utilization studies and occupancy analyses to inform space optimization and strategic planning efforts.
Develop test fits, move plans, and scenario plans to accommodate reorganizations, team expansions, or leadership directives.
Ensure workplace layouts reflect company design standards, sustainability goals, and accessibility requirements.
Maintain accurate occupancy data within clients IWMS or CAFM system (e.g., FM Systems).
Support headcount forecasting, departmental allocations, and seat assignment tracking.
Generate occupancy, utilization, and scenario planning reports as requested by leadership.
Conduct MAC (Move, Adds, Changes) activities for the business.
Perform on-site validations to ensure data accuracy and consistency across systems
Prepare regular and ad hoc reports on occupancy, space efficiency, and planning metrics.
Provide insights to clients leadership team to inform space strategy and future portfolio decisions.
Manage furniture inventory across assigned locations, to support maintaining standards, stock, and reuse initiatives.
Coordinate with vendors and internal stakeholders on new furniture procurement and installation.
Maintain accurate documentation of all furniture assets and configurations.
Project Management
Manage the full lifecycle of small to medium headquarters projects, including office renovations, department relocations, reconfigurations, and furniture refreshes.
Define project scopes, budgets, and schedules while coordinating with architects, engineers, vendors, and contractors.
Facilitate project kickoffs, design reviews, and stakeholder communications to ensure alignment with company priorities.
Oversee construction and installation activities to ensure quality, safety, and minimal disruption to business operations.
Manage procurement and installation of furniture, signage, and workplace technology to deliver a complete, ready-to-use environment.
Cross-Functional Coordination & Operational Support
Collaborate with IT and Security teams to plan infrastructure and access needs for workplace projects.
Support change management and communication efforts for space transitions and relocations.
Maintain accurate as-built drawings, occupancy data, and space metrics in CAFM/IWMS systems.
Contribute to long-term real estate strategy discussions by providing data and insights on space utilization and cost efficiency.
Partner with sustainability and workplace experience teams to promote environmentally responsible and employee-centered design decisions
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Facilities Management, Project Management or related field.
Minimum 35 years of experience in corporate space planning or workplace project management, ideally in a headquarters or multi-department setting.
Proficiency in AutoCAD required; familiarity with IWMS/CAFM tools (e.g., FM:Systems, TRIRIGA, Archibus, knowledge of Revit, Excel, and space analytics software preferred.
Strong understanding of workplace design principles and furniture systems.
Ability to interpret architectural drawings and construction documentation.
5+ years of experience in corporate space planning and workplace project management, ideally in a headquarters or multi-department setting.
Strong understanding of workplace planning principles, building systems, and construction processes.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to collaborate effectively across multiple business functions.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently in a fast-paced corporate environment.
PMP, LEED, or NCIDQ, WELL accreditation preferred.

Job Summary
Under the supervision of the General Manager the Maintenance Specialist is responsible for ensuring the functionality of the venue prior, during, and after concerts and events. The Maintenance Specialist will perform various maintenance tasks such as painting, plumbing, electrical, heating/ air conditioning systems or construction tasks as they arise to make sure the venue is looking and functioning to its best potential. This individual will oversee daily, weekly, monthly scheduled cleaning and various assigned maintenance projects.
Essential Functions
Perform daily, event and regularly scheduled cleaning and maintenance projects. Responsible for the overall maintenance of the venue, including: carpet repair/cleaning, painting of interior/exterior, elevator repair, bathroom maintenance, upkeep of air-conditioning and heating, electrical and plumbing work, other repairs/maintenance as needed.
Perform duties as directed by Manager to maintain all facility equipment in good working condition.
Assist with inspecting systems throughout the facility to detect malfunctions and determine a solution for repair.
Participates in developing standard procedures for maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of venue and all associated assets.
Assist with the purchase of work materials as needed or as directed.
Work with Manager to schedule and supervise part time cleaners according to venue event schedule.
May be responsible for coordinating with outside vendors on repair and maintenance work, building set props and decorations and assisting with advancement of production as needed.
Required Qualifications
Must have immediate knowledge of electrical systems and plumbing systems - National Electrical Code a plus
