Job DescriptionThe Facilities Maintenance Technician will report into the Regional Manager Facilities while maintaining all equipment and systems at the Hertz Airport car rental location.
Job purpose
Efficiently operate and maintain buildings, systems and equipment for various car rental locations. Interpret technical issues to prevent equipment and facilities downtime and proactively pursue building, equipment and maintenance related issue. Develop and maintain strong relationships with business unit customers and stakeholders. Facilities Maintenance Technician position requires administrative duties, working with tools to complete work orders as necessary, and maintaining maintenance metrics.
Key responsibilities:
Respond quickly to emergency situations, summoning additional assistance as needed including nights weekends and holidays. Coordinate and Perform preventive maintenance tasks to minimize business interruption and ensure that buildings, systems and equipment meet or exceed their rated life Perform minor construction as directed by Lead Facilities Maintenance Technician and Facilities Management Record and maintain Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) data to develop maintenance history, plans, and account for labor hours Monitor service providers as directed by Lead Facilities Maintenance Technician and Facilities Management


Key-result areas:
Ensure that buildings, systems and equipment are maintained to standards for the business units Adhere to facilities standards to ensure consistent delivery maintenance services Manage Service Providers ongoing maintenance standards, quality and costs to ensure delivery is as contracted and is appropriate. Support asset assessment programs to provide condition codes for capital planning and risk mitigation. Ensure appropriate and consistent reporting of the facilities programs and issues to Facilities Management


Educational Background:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Professional Experience:
Minimum of four years in a similar or related role and working with service providers Building and grounds general maintenance Understanding of systems such as electrical, plumbing, HVAC, car washes, vacuum systems and fuel stations Construction, repair and maintenance Computerized Maintenance Management Systems and PC skills such as email, Word and Excel; Environmental considerations
Skills:
Effectively communicate with all stakeholders Self-motivated Work in and with teams to provide necessary services
Physical Demands:
Candidates must be able to work in hazardous surroundings and at heights up to 60’. The employee will be required to safely walk, stand, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, see and hear.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to outside weather conditions including wet, humid, cold, and heat. Work environment may include hazardous materials and conditions, high noise level and dust.

Inspect multiple facilities following a comprehensive facility maintenance assessments; perform preventative maintenance repairs
Complete maintenance work orders; perform minor electrical, carpentry, and plumbing services Collaborate with general managers to review and resolve open maintenance issues Maintain communication with dispatch; report steps taken for work order resolution Respond to corporate project requests and surveys; resolve issues and report findings to supervisors Communicate with multiple teams and management on a weekly or monthly basis to ensure compliance and consistency regarding maintenance projects Advise managers of maintenance concerns and ensure creation of work order requests Utilize various computer systems to track and report maintenance requests Participate in company sponsored safety training classes Maintain technical and product knowledge on all equipment within the technician’s area of responsibility Model behaviors that support the company’s common purpose; ensure guests and team members are supported at the highest level Ensure all activities are in compliance with rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
High school diploma or equivalent certificate required Valid state driver’s license required Minimum five years’ preventive maintenance experience required Trade or vocational school preferred Prior experience with electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems Basic understanding of construction practices Intermediate mathematical skills Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to collaborate and work both on a team or independently with minimal supervision Strong attention to detail Climb ladders Lift up to 50 pounds Work with electric and fuel systems Exposure to inclement weather Ability to bend, stoop, twist, crawl Travel required up to 85%; varies by region

We have an exciting opportunity for a Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our cross-county Facilities team. As a KinderCare Technician, you'll have the important responsibility of ensuring that your assigned centers are safe and inviting for the families and children we serve.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


Perform preventive maintenance and repairs in multiple child care facilities through work orders submitted by center staff. Work includes: Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning (HVAC); electrical; plumbing; other mechanical; and lighting. Also, general carpentry and repair of facility structures, as well as minor plumbing work. Perform safety and security inspections of playgrounds and property. Operate a laptop computer/tablet and smartphone for the purposes of collecting work orders, producing schedules and submitting time records Engage local vendors to complete more complex repairs and monitor performance. Assist with inspections of renovations and new construction, as well as identifying potential capitol replacement projects Order materials, update and/or create work orders and provide status updates through electronic Facilities Management software and systems Other related duties as assigned
Qualifications



Proven experience in managing ongoing lists of maintenance projects and follow through commitments made. Maintenance experience in a multi-unit environment, preferred Demonstrated knowledge of materials, methods, terminology, equipment, and tools used in the maintenance, repair, and construction of building structures and systems, including those used in performing rough and finished carpentry, plumbing, heating, electrical, mechanical, and painting work. Knowledge of and ability to use tools of office automation, including computers and applicable software applications, such as word processing, spreadsheets, and work order management software, iPhone and iPad. Time management and organization skills Basic knowledge of mechanical equipment and the ability to diagnose and correct equipment malfunctions and a working knowledge of basic machinery preventive maintenance and repair. Ability to read, understand, and apply facility maintenance manuals and technical bulletins, construction drawings, plans and specifications. Ability to perform well under high volume of requests. Ability to build and maintain relationships with team and center staff. Strong professional communication skills. Self- motivated and able to work independently and collaboratively. Qualified to operate a company vehicle based on a motor vehicle record check and company policy.
