Qualifications Minimum of 21 years of age. High School Diploma or GED Qualified candidates must possess at least 6-months experience in either Law Enforcement, Security, or the United States Armed Forces. Ability to function in a fast-paced environment and able to multi -ask with little assistance. Excellent verbal communication skills and able to interpret documents to ensure all rules and procedures are applied. Successfully pass criminal, credit, and driving record checks. The FSO/ITPSO also supports internal customers, as needed, in developing innovative solutions to address the company's business needs. You will maintain the security posture of the company's offices and facilities during all maintenance, repair, support, upgrade, and reconfiguration activities. In further support of securing the company's offices and safeguarding classified information, you will lead the Insider Threat Program team that monitors, investigates, and reports on insider threat indicators from Intelsat's cleared employees, consultants, and contractors. About the Position: Facility Security Officers (FSOs) are a requirement under 32 CFR Part 117 for cleared facilities. The Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO) assists the FSO in managing the classified program at George Mason University, and acts as back-up. The AFSO provides onsite direct security support at the Mason Springfield facility. Responsibilities: * Administers day-to-day security operations, including physical security controls, personnel processing, program reviews, visitor control, document control system, violation investigations and reports, receipt/dispatch/destruction/mail logs, visit authorization requests, and end-of-day checks; * Serves as a COMSEC custodian (or alternate custodian) and assists with or performs semi-annual material inventories, as required; * Performs courier duties, as required; * Utilizes DoD database systems; * Initiates personal security clearances and maintains all records related to clearances; * Assists in developing and establishing an effective security awareness, training, and education program; * Conducts initial security briefings, debriefings, indoctrinations, pre/post foreign travel briefings, and refresher briefings, as appropriate, and tracks annual training requirements and requirements of cleared personnel; * Conducts all required reporting to the U.S. Government, including foreign travel and incident reporting; * Maintains DD254s and prepares and issues DD254s to cleared subcontractors; * Responds to U.S. Government inquiries related to George Mason University's security program; and * Participates in self-inspections and annual assessments. The FSO will have a detailed understanding and experience with the NISPOM and general security requirements for DOD and other Federal agencies.
