    The University of Maryland Faculty Practice is seeking a full-time faculty member with specialty training in Headache and facial pain syndromes to join the Department of Neurology. The Department of Neurology provides evaluation, treatment, and care for patients suffering from a wide range of neurological disorders including stroke, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), and migraine. We provide care through our inpatient and consultative services, our designated Comprehensive Stroke Center, our Level 4 Epilepsy Center, our 22-bed Neuro-Critical Care Unit, and our busy outpatient practice. The Department also provides state-of-the-art rehabilitation services. A number of departmental faculty received grant funding from the National Institutes of Health and the Veteran's Administration to study the role of genetics in stroke, epilepsy, and Parkinson's disease, new brain imaging modalities in multiple sclerosis, biomarkers in multiple sclerosis, and neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism and intellectual disability. Many of our faculty are lead investigators in clinical trials to identify new therapeutic approaches for a broad range of neurological disorders. The faculty member will expand a multi-disciplinary outpatient practice focusing on headache, migraine and facial pain syndromes. Clinical responsibilities will include inpatient consultation as well as procedures such as chemo denervation, nerve blocks, trigger point injections, infusion protocols and alternative approaches as appropriate, as well as coordinate clinical trials related to headache. Strong collaboration with behavioral health and integrative plan services is expected. The selected faculty will participate in education and teaching of medical students and residents and to assist with launch of a headache fellowship. Salary range: Faculty Associate $260,000 to $300,000.00 annual EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Doctoral degree in Medicine in area of specialty 3-5 years of clinical experience CPR required BLS required ACLS and/or other relevant certification as required by the department Board certification/eligibility in area of specialty Demonstrated ability to promote professionalism through involvement in professional organizations, teaching, research, and/or publishing Ability to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the patient population(s) served. POSITION OVERVIEW: The successful candidate will be passionate about working directly with Master's students to prepare them for the demands of their Master's courses. Faculty dedicate 100% of their time to teaching. We invite applications for a part time Adjunct Master's Faculty. Applicants with traditional and non-traditional backgrounds and experience in any field relevant to the Graduate School academic programs are welcome to apply. Estimated start date: August 1, 2025 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Instruct students in the academic disciplines relevant to the Master's programs. * Maintain high visibility for Master's students, including but not limited to; regular office hours, responding to students' emails and voice mails in a timely fashion, mentoring and advising students on academic and publication development. * Manage classrooms in person, via Zoom, and within the Canvas Learning Management System (LMS) including preparing syllabi, assignments, activities, grading, preparing assessment activities, etc. * Respond to student emails within 2 business days of receipt. * Respond to student submissions within 5 business days with substantive feedback. * Maintain professional competencies in research, a subject area provided in the Graduate School, and currency in instructional methodologies through professional associations and professional development. * Ability to teach in a multimodal environment, on campus, simultaneous instruction (streaming via Zoom while teaching in a classroom) and Live Online (streaming via Zoom) and use LMS (Canvas). Interest in developing understanding of and participation in asynchronous instruction. * Support student success initiatives by making timely referrals to the advising team. * Effectively use Office365, Canvas (Learn@), Zoom (Capitol Live), and Student Information System interfaces. * Support educational effectiveness activities of the Graduate School, such as course learning assessment and program level assessment review. * Support accreditation activities of the Graduate School. * Collaborate with the Dean of Graduate School for activities in support of student success and retention. * May be required to perform other related tasks as assigned by the Dean of Graduate School and/or Vice President. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: * Master's degree or higher from an accredited institution of higher learning in a closely aligned field relevant to Artificial Intelligence or Quantum Computing programs within the Graduate School. * Must be able to work in the U.S. without sponsorship as the college is unable to provide sponsorship. * At least five years of professional experience within the last 10 years in a subject area relevant to artificial intelligence programs within the Graduate School. * Knowledge of subject matter and relevant topics and issues in the research discipline, including, but not limited to, qualitative and/or quantitative methodologies, statistical testing, data analysis techniques, understanding of relevant analysis software, and understanding of the ethical principles of research. * Knowledge of effective instructional techniques and innovative modes of course delivery adaptable to a variety of learning styles. * Understanding of the current American Psychological Association (APA) formatting guidelines. * Demonstrated commitment to a diverse student body. * Commitment to collegiality with faculty and staff in support of the university's mission and goals. * Teaching experience of two years or more, to include teaching and/or chairing theses at the Master's level or higher. * Excellent communication skills, and the ability to work with faculty, students, and industry partners on various projects. * Ability to master the use of the technology platforms used to support learning and administration of the University including: Office365, Canvas (Learn@), Zoom (Capitol Live), and Student Information System interfaces. * Ability to maintain confidential information. * Desire to further the mission of Capitol Technology University.
