The University of South Florida, School of Social Work invites applications for three tenure/tenure track Assistant/Associate Professor positions. We encourage applicants who are interested in joining our School of Social Work scholarly faculty in educating social work professionals and contributing to the knowledge base to find solutions to help people in need, address social problems, and to advance human rights and social justice. We are open to applicants whose research agenda focuses on substantive areas of interest (e.g., direct clinical social work practice, health, mental health, policy, community engagement, global health and global mental health, data science and machine learning, and eHealth). As part of the College of Behavioral and Community Sciences, members of our faculty engage in innovative interdisciplinary, translational, and implementation research focusing on finding solutions to promote the quality of life, health and the safety of diverse populations and communities.
Minimum Qualifications:
· MSW and Ph.D. in Social Work or related area (Ph.D. must be conferred by August 7, 2026).
Preferred Qualifications:
· A demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, peer-reviewed publications, externally funded research or strong potential for securing external funding, and service
· MSW from a CSWE accredited School of Social Work
· 2 Years post graduate practice experience
The responsibilities of this position include: teach doctoral, master's, and undergraduate level courses in Social Work; assist in Ph.D. student research and dissertation studies; and engage in scholarship, research, and grant and contract submissions, and service. Teaching will occur on the Tampa campus for face-to-face classroom instruction (candidates must be available on campus). This is a 9-month tenure/tenure-track continual appointment, subject to annual evaluations. Salary is commensurate with experience. The Translational Pathology Senior Faculty Member conducts research that is closely aligned and appointed in a Moffitt Medical Group (MMG) Clinical Department. We are searching for an Aquatic Ecotoxicologist who will contribute to better understanding of how contaminants of emerging concern (CECs) and legacy pollutants affect marine and estuarine systems, and their component species. Investigators can work across all levels of biological organization with a cellular, organismal, population, community or ecosystems focus. We expect that qualified candidates will carry out hypothesis-based research employing modern tools including laboratory and/or field-based observation and chemical analyses. We especially seek high quality candidates who pursue toxicology studies in the marine environments that evaluate critical threshold levels relative to negative health outcomes (for marine animals and people), that focus on quantitative risk assessment or evaluate the whole-ecosystem implications of contaminant exposure using models and related mass balance contaminant budget studies.
The College of Marine Science hosts the Marine Environmental Chemistry Laboratory (MECLab) which includes various state-of-the-art equipment including stable-isotope and GC- and LC- (tandem-quadrupole) mass spectrometers.
