    The Rutgers-Camden Faculty of Arts and Sciences Dean's Office is seeking an instructor who can teach the Critical Analysis and Reasoning Skills ( CARS ) section of the MCAT exam and also serve as the instructor of record for the MCAT workshop course that is offered to undergraduate students for academic credit. The course may utilize materials from a test preparation company such as Kaplan and will be supplemented by American Association of Medical Colleges ( AAMC ) materials and direct instruction. The course will cover all four sections of the MCAT exam, with separate instructors teaching each of the three other sections. The instructor of record will coordinate the work of the other instructors and ensure that the course runs efficiently and effectively. The course will be offered in person in Camden, NJ. Two of the four topics on the MCAT will be addressed each class session, which will be held one afternoon a week. The other two topics will be taught the following week. The CARS instructor therefore will attend class once every other week. The instructor of record should expect to spend approximately 2 hours every other week instructing students, with additional time allotted for grading, office hours and various administrative duties related to oversight of the course.     Adjunct Podiatry Faculty - (24001770) Description Reporting to the academic department chairperson or other academic leadership in the School of Podiatric Medicine (TUSPM), the adjunct clinical faculty member provides academic instruction and clinical training to TUSPM students and may provide care to patients in the Foot and Ankle Institute and related satellite practices in rare circumstances. Essential Functions of Position Each function requires that the Personally Identifiable Information (PII) of students, donors, alumni, employees and the protected health information (PHI) of patients be safeguarded at all times from unauthorized use or dissemination as governed by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA), the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), as well as other related laws and Temple University policies. · Academic and Training Responsibilities: o Provides didactic instruction, clinical instruction and demonstration of podiatric skills and procedures to students. § Develops/coordinates education plans related to initial and ongoing competency validation. § Develops/coordinates core education to address patient population specific podiatric care. § Identifies and evaluates instructional materials related to the adjunct appointment in various types of media and formats. § Incorporates principles of podiatric learning in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of education programs. § Prepares and delivers lectures and leads classroom discussions. o Observes, evaluates, and provides feedback to students' demonstration of skills and procedures. o Coordinates adjunct appointment duties with the Foot and Ankle Institute and Office of Clinical Education in the clinical setting, where appropriate. o Evaluates and assesses student competencies. § Plans, reviews and corrects students' clinical assignments. § Administers and grades examinations. § Posts students' grades in system(s) established by Temple University for such purposes and maintains student attendance records. o Plans and conducts student conferences. o Attends scheduled orientation sessions. o Provide care to patients of the Foot and Ankle institute and related satellite practices under special adjunct appointment. o Document care and bill for services provided under the practice identifiers and using the system(s) established for such purposes by TUSPM. o Take do care to document and bill for all services provided under the adjunct appointment such that no billing is withheld, diverted, or comingled with other patient care responsibilities apart from TUSPM. · Facilities Support: o Report dysfunctional and/or hazardous systems, facilities or major equipment to the TUSPM Area Facilities Manager, Director of Information Technology or the Senior Vice Dean-Finance and Administration, as appropriate. Initial visits will occur before mid-semester. • Interface with clinical preceptor as JCN's representative and liaison, encouraging communication and clinical professional relationships between clinical preceptor and the Jefferson College of Nursing. • Provide a narrative summary of site visits, to course faculty and Senior Associate Dean, with important/salient points about the student's progress in clinical and the preceptor's impression of the student. • Provide weekly evaluative feedback to students on clinical logs. • Notify course faculty when students not meeting expected clinical performance. • Place students in danger of failing on clinical jeopardy in conjunction with JCN course faculty and create plans for remediation with students. • Notify the Senior Associate Dean and course faculty of any problems or concerns with the clinical preceptor and/or clinical site. • Maintain ongoing communications with Senior Associate Dean and course faculty. • Facilitate completion of student evaluations by clinical preceptors. Job Description Qualifications Master's degree in nursing (MSN) from an accredited institution. Current license to practice as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. State Board of Nursing licensure for states where clinical assignments performed. National specialty certification as applicable to teaching assignments. Current license to practice as a certified registered nurse practitioner in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as applicable to teaching assignments. State Board of Nursing advanced nursing practice licensure for states where clinical assignments performed. Evidence of continuing education. Professional memberships relevant to areas of expertise.
