Adjunct Faculty Liberal Arts Department The Cleveland Institute of Art seeks qualified applicants for Adjunct Faculty positions in Liberal Arts to teach the course AH 150 Critical Issues in Visual Culture. This reading- and discussion-based course introduces first-year students to critical theories and methods of analysis for interpreting modern and contemporary art, media, and culture. We welcome applicants with backgrounds in fields including art history, media studies, comparative literature, architecture, design and design history, literary studies, communications, and other fields that foreground relevant critical theory.
Minimum qualifications include a master's degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience. Adjunct faculty are not eligible for benefits. Adjunct faculty are limited to a maximum of four teaching assignments per academic year. In-person teaching is required for this course.

The Department fosters a highly collaborative, multi-disciplinary research and education/training environment. Our faculty possess research expertise in cardiac, neuronal, vascular, and renal physiology, as well as structural biology, cell signaling, and molecular biophysics. We are particularly interested in candidates who can strengthen and build on our current research focus areas in cellular organelle pathophysiology, metabolism, and/or structural biology as applied to studying the molecular basis of human diseases such as cardiovascular/circulatory diseases and neurodegenerative disorders. Other topics of research in broadly defined areas of cell physiology and molecular biophysics will also be considered.
Applicants for a position as Assistant Professor should have a Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree, 3-5 years postdoctoral experience, and a strong record of scholarly activity.
The salary range for an Assistant Professor will be $110,000 to $125,000

Competitive candidates for Associate Professor should have an established research program and a strong publication and funding record.
The salary range for an Associate Professor will be $140,000 to $155,000.
Competitive candidates for Professor should be recognized leaders in their field with an outstanding scholarly record and international reputation.

Instructors provide quality instruction for student learning and maintain a positive learning environment in the class. The major emphasis for instructors is on teaching and evaluating students in the course. Classes are taught in a variety of formats and at several different locations, as well as online. Instructors also communicate with students between classes and are responsible for several administrative duties such as reporting on academic activity and submitting final grades.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Planning and teaching classes as assigned and as outlined in the course descriptions and course syllabi and departmental guidelines.
2. Beginning and ending all classes as scheduled and covering all relevant learning outcomes for each course.
3. Maintaining academic standards and classroom behavior to ensure an environment conducive to learning, communicating with students weekly, and answering student emails in a timely manner.
4. Evaluating students using a variety of methods and informing each student of scores received on each assessment in a timely manner.
5. Using Cleveland State email for administrative purposes and responding to student questions via Cleveland State email in a timely manner.
6. Meeting deadlines for all administrative requests such as submitting personnel paperwork, acknowledging contracts, academic activity and assessment reports, and final grades.
7. Submitting requests through the department chair, program coordinator/director, or lead teacher for equipment, supplies, textbooks, and other instructional aids.
Qualifications: Master's degree or higher in a qualifying field or Master's degree or higher with 18 graduate semester hours in any combination of the qualifying fields including Health, Physical Education, Public Health, Wellness, Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology or related field. Also needs to hold BLS certification with American Heart Association in order to teach Safety Education/First Aid/CPR.
Availability/Closing Date: This posting is not a guarantee of an open position. Required Qualifications: Attained or in pursuit of an Associates of Engineering or Applied Science in an appropriate field related to microelectronic manufacturing (ie. Electrical, Mechanical, Technology, Industrial, etc..) in addition to at least 3 years of work experience in a field related to microelectronic manufacturing. If a candidate is in pursuit of an associates degree then they must be actively taking a minimum of six credit hours per semester at the associates level. Hands-on experience in the manufacturing, repair, or design of printed circuit boards including hand-soldering, hot-air rework, inspection using stereo microscope, stencil printing, pick & place, reflow, and PCB design. Able to work in flexible schedule from 9 AM - 9 PM on campus. Able to use a computer with Microsoft Windows, Office, and Teams. Able to be trained on and use PCB manufacturing and microelectronics equipment on-campus. Excellent communication and organization skills with the ability to learn quickly. Comfortable and nimble at multitasking in a dynamic educational environment.
Preferred Qualifications: Attained bachelor's degree or beyond in related field - Engineering, technology, industrial, etc. 5+ years experience working in a manufacturing environment, ESD preventative, and/or class 10,000 cleanroom environment. Attained their IPC J-STD-001 solder certificate and IPC A-610 certificate. Experience with PCB design software such as Altium.

Instructors provide quality instruction for student learning and maintain a positive learning environment in the class. The major emphasis for instructors is on teaching and evaluating students in the course. Classes are taught in a variety of formats and at several different locations, as well as online. Instructors also communicate with students between classes and are responsible for several administrative duties such as reporting on academic activity and submitting final grades.

Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Planning and teaching classes as assigned and as outlined in the course descriptions and course syllabi and departmental guidelines.
2. Beginning and ending all classes as scheduled and covering all relevant learning outcomes for each course.
3. Maintaining academic standards and classroom behavior to ensure an environment conducive to learning, communicating with students weekly, and answering student emails in a timely manner.
4. Evaluating students using a variety of methods and informing each student of scores received on each assessment in a timely manner.
5. Using Cleveland State email for administrative purposes and responding to student questions via Cleveland State email in a timely manner.
6. Meeting deadlines for all administrative requests such as submitting personnel paperwork, acknowledging contracts, academic activity and assessment reports, and final grades.

Qualifications:
Masters Degree or higher in a qualifying field or a Masters Degree or higher with 18 graduate semester hours in a qualifying field from an accredited institution, where the qualifying fields are Agriculture, Agribusiness, Ecology, Zoology, Biology, Botany, Agribusiness, or Agriculture Education. Three years teaching experience in an Agriculture related field is preferred. Experience with alternative delivery instructional modes recommended - hybrid, on ground, and online.
