    Under the supervision of the Dean of the School of Education, the Chair of the Department of Educational Leadership oversees faculty, program offerings, and teaching assignments. The department administers graduate programs in Educational Leadership and Higher Education Administration at the master's, specialist, and doctoral levels. The Chair ensures compliance with accreditation and licensure requirements, collaborates with program coordinators, manages schedules and faculty assignments, oversees student advisement, and maintains communication with prospective and current students while supporting the mission of the School of Education. Duties and responsibilities listed are essential job functions and exclude functions that are incidental to the performance of fundamental job duties. * MISSION - Assist the university in the implementation of its Mission and the School's Statement of Mission and Goals. * SUPERVISION- This position gives direct report to the educational leadership faculty * ACCREDITATION - Assist the university in maintaining compliance with SACSCOC principles and standards and assist the Director of Assessment and Accreditation in the implementation of the CAEP Accreditation plan. Prepare reports for assessment and accreditation purposes. Analyze and disseminate results to stakeholders in a timely fashion, or upon request. * ANNUAL PROCESS REVIEW - Assist the Dean of the School of Education in the Annual Review Process with the Mississippi Department of Education, including such suggestions from the MDE for improvement of the learning environment. * SCHEDULE- Develop a schedule of Educational Leadership and Higher Education Administration class offerings in consultation with program coordinators and the Dean of the School of Education. * FACULTY/STAFF EVALUATION- Conduct annual evaluations for the department. * ADVISEMENT - Advise students and prospective students. * CLINICAL PRACTICE- Supervise the clinical hours to ensure candidates meet degree and licensure requirements. * UNIVERSITY EVENTS - Attend scheduled university events where participation is required. * STUDENT RECRUITMENT - Assist the university in recruiting students. * FACULTY MEMBER - Carry out the responsibilities of a faculty member in the School of Education. * ADMISSIONS-Monitor all admissions to department programs in terms of meeting departmental requirements and recommend changes when needed. * OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES - Perform any other responsibilities as requested by the dean. * REPORTING RELATIONSHIP -- This position reports to the Dean of the School of Education.
