Each fall, NKU hosts its Cybersecurity Symposium, a signature event that draws broad participation from the regional community, while the university's CyberDefense student team has achieved success in regional and national competitions, creating valuable opportunities for faculty to mentor and collaborate with an energetic and growing student population.
The SCA is part of the College of Informatics (COI) (informatics.nku.edu) and is housed in Griffin Hall, a landmark high-tech building. The school offers multiple degrees and operates as a combination of three program clusters: Computer Science & Software Engineering (CS&SE), Cybersecurity & Information Technology (CYS&IT), and Information Systems & Analytics (IS&A). Primary Responsibilities
Teaching: Develop and teach courses in both face-to-face and online formats. The standard teaching load is three courses per semester for tenure-track Assistant Professors (including at least two upper-level courses) and four courses per semester for non-tenure track faculty (Professors of Practice / Teaching Professors). Tenure-track faculty may teach at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, while non-tenure track faculty typically teach primarily at the undergraduate level.
Research (tenure-track only): Maintain an active research agenda in Cybersecurity / Information Technology, with emphasis on projects that engage undergraduate and graduate students in scholarly activities.
Service: Contribute to the School, College, and University through committee work and professional engagement. Faculty are also expected to support initiatives such as the annual Cybersecurity Symposium and student organizations / events in cybersecurity and IT.
On-campus presence: This is not a remote position. The successful candidate will be required to relocate to the Northern Kentucky / Greater Cincinnati area.
