This is a 9-month, tenure-track Assistant Professor faculty position. Primary duties will include teaching courses (a reduced teaching load for the first years of hire) and engaging in scholarly publications, reflecting the School's strong emphasis on research productivity. Faculty enjoy access to comprehensive research resources, including WRDS, Bloomberg, CRSP, and DataStream, as well as Ph.D. student research assistance. The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate and sustain excellence in teaching, maintain an active research agenda leading to publications in reputable, discipline-based peer-reviewed journals, and contribute to service and engagement activities consistent with the School's mission and AACSB accreditation standards. Duties also include service to the department, college, and university. This position requires face-to-face interactions through a regular schedule of attendance on campus and in the workplace.
The AACSB-accredited Sanchez School offers a PhD in International Business Administration and is home to The International Trade Journal, indexed in Web of Science. To further advance impactful scholarship, faculty are encouraged to collaborate with any of our four Centers of Academic Excellence.
Required Qualifications
The successful candidate must hold a PhD/DBA in Business or a closely related field and have at least 18 hours of graduate coursework in Transportation or International Logistics. ABDs can also be considered if they are in a position to complete their degree before the start date. We strongly encourage candidates with research focuses on international logistics and business phenomena, particularly those who can leverage Laredo, Texas's status as the #1 port in the Americas and its vibrant ecosystem of transportation, logistics, customs, technology-driven, and trade-related organizations.

* Prepare and, on the first day of class, post or distribute syllabi, which inform students about course requirements, grading distribution, requirements, testing assignments, absence policy and other pertinent information for each course assigned.
* Meet all assigned classes on time in the assigned rooms and be available to students 15 minutes before class, except between classes when teaching back-to-back classes, and 15 minutes after class. A faculty member should inform the supervisor if he or she is unable to meet a class on time in order that substitutes be facilitated.
* Prepare, administer, and grade assignments and examinations in a timely manner to inform students about their Progress and to provide opportunities, which will allow students to succeed. Use multiple measures of assessment. Include opportunities for research and outside assignments
* Follow procedures related to the Registrar's office, including 12 class day reports, grade reports and deadlines; attendance record reports; withdrawal deadlines; class changes; and time and room scheduling.
* Provide a safe environment for students and be responsible for the security of assigned equipment, materials, and classrooms.
* To work with the department and colleagues to develop, assess, evaluate, and revise programs, courses, syllabi and objectives to ensure instructional and programmatical responsiveness to the occupational and academic needs of our students and to ensure instructional quality through the achievement of competency-based objectives.
* Provide information and/or data on student learning outcomes assessments etc...to the requesting officer so that the proper reports may be completed and filed with proper educational agency, funding agency, or accrediting agency.
* Must keep abreast of the changes that occur in their discipline due to the rapid changes of technology by actively participating as members of the advisory committees both on and off campus; by attending conferences; by returning to their appropriate field of expertise either through course work or world-of-work experiences; and by reading scholarly journals.
* Stay current of changes that occur in discipline. Participate in department initiatives to infuse changes into curriculum. Participate in interdisciplinary discussions, which are directed at improving student learning and evaluating core competencies curriculum.

This is a tenure-track Assistant Professor (9-month faculty position). Primary duties will include teaching introductory and upper-level courses for the biology program, including Entomology, and building an independent research program that will include undergraduate and graduate students. A reduced teaching load is available to allow new hires to establish their research program at the university. Moreover, course buyouts are available tied to grant funding obtained by the faculty. Duties also include service to the department, college and university as needed. This position requires face-to-face interactions through a regular schedule of attendance on campus and in the workplace.
The Department of Biology and Chemistry offers BA, BS and MS degrees in Biology and a BS in Chemistry. We currently serve ~800 undergraduate majors and ~30 graduate (Masters) students.
Required Qualifications
The successful candidate must hold an earned doctorate in biology, or related field, with a specialization in entomology. ABDs will also be considered but must have earned a doctorate before appointment. We strongly encourage candidates with a strong commitment both to teaching and to developing a research program that involves undergraduate and graduate students. Ability to acquire extramural funding is desirable.

This is a tenure-track faculty position in Computer Engineering. Primary duties will include teaching undergraduate and future graduate courses, and be an active academic service role model. A reduced teaching load is available to allow new hires to establish their research program at the university. Moreover, course buyouts are available through internal processes tied to grant funding obtained by the faculty. Candidates will also need to build an independent externally funded research program to raise the research profile of the School of Engineering. Duties also include participating in ABET accreditation activities such as assessment and evaluation of student outcomes and other service activities as needed by the School of Engineering. The School of Engineering has ABET-accredited programs in Systems, Computer, and Petroleum Engineering. A Master of Science in Systems Engineering will be launched in Fall 2026. Required Qualifications
The successful candidate must hold an earned Ph.D. Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline. Applicants close to finishing a Ph.D. will be considered if their degree completion is prior to the start of the 2026-2027 academic year. We strongly encourage candidates with experience in Embedded Systems, Robotics, Internet of Things, Quantum Computing, Computer Architecture, High-Performance Computing, Cybersecurity, or Cyber Forensics, to apply, although all specializations will be considered. The successful candidate must demonstrate the potential to publish research in highly ranked venues and contribute to interdisciplinary collaborations. 1. Teach assigned courses in your discipline by preparing lecture and laboratory materials and activities, which are based upon best practices and appropriate use of technologies within the discipline to facilitate student learning. 2. Develop, evaluate and revise course objectives and syllabi to ensure instructional quality.

6. Conduct analyses and reports on course based, general education and/or other assessments as needed for Institutional Effectiveness process.
7. Work a minimum of 2 hours a week on campus including a minimum of .5 office hours per week.
8. Teach day, evening, weekend, distance learning courses, at either campus, off-campus, and/or out-of-town courses as assigned.
9. Keep current with changes and advances in the fields of science, technology, and pedagogy and incorporate these into appropriate teaching areas.
10. Participate in activities such as orientation, convocation, in-service, and seminars designed for professional growth and development.
11. Participate in library collection development for the disciplines through the request of materials and the evaluation of the present holding.
12. Participate in committees at the college and at the departmental level.
