The School of Education Adjunct Faculty - Dissertation Advisor, under the supervision of the School Director is responsible for guiding students through their dissertation journey. Dissertation Advisors (Chairs) are to be experienced in the end to end dissertation development process. Dissertation Advisors need to be knowledgeable in all aspects of dissertation milestones for a five-chapter manuscript, including scholarly development of the Prospectus, Proposal, and final Manuscript. Guide dissertation students through each dissertation milestone deliverable ensuring compliance to template and rubric criteria. Be available to meet with students through phone, Zoom, or other sources to assist them in scholarly completion of dissertation milestone documents. Participate in virtual review sessions with students during summer intensive sessions. Review and provide formative and summative feedback to students weekly on dissertation milestone deliverables. Prepare and support students for proposal and manuscript oral defenses Counsel and advise dissertation students through committee member (subject matter expert and second committee member) feedback to meet University dissertation requirements. Participate in faculty directed activities integral to the university system. Meet with Director of School of Education on student milestone completion progress and report issues, concerns, and successes ensuring student dissertation work complies with University standards. Participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the curriculum that conforms with the Program's mission, goals, and objectives.
