Position Summary: Crafton Hills College is seeking qualified, enthusiastic, and student-centered individuals to join our Performing Arts Department as Part-Time Stagecraft Instructors. The successful candidate will teach one or more courses in Stagecraft (e.g., Stagecraft, Technical Theatre, Set Construction, Lighting, Sound, and related topics) and may assist in technical support for theatre productions. This position is part of a diverse and collaborative department that is committed to student success, equity, and excellence in teaching and learning. Representative Duties: * Teach Stagecraft and/or related technical theatre courses in accordance with department curriculum and California Community College standards. * Prepare and deliver course materials, including lectures, demonstrations, lab exercises, and assessments. * Evaluate student performance and maintain accurate records in accordance with college policies. * Maintain office hours to assist and advise students. * Ensure a safe and inclusive working environment in the scene shop and backstage areas. * Participate in production support, including scenic construction, lighting, sound, rigging, or other technical theatre work, as needed. * Collaborate with full-time faculty, staff, and students to support departmental goals and student success. Minimum Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree(s) or higher and two years of professional experience. OR * Associate degree(s) and six years of professional experience. Desirable Qualifications: * Professional or academic experience in scenic construction, lighting, sound design, rigging, or other technical theatre areas. * Experience teaching or mentoring students in technical theatre or stagecraft. * Ability to work effectively with students of diverse backgrounds and learning needs. * Knowledge of safety procedures and best practices in theatrical production environments. * Familiarity with modern stagecraft tools and technologies (e.g., CAD, ETC lighting consoles, QLab, power tools). * Strong communication, organizational, and collaborative skills.
