The School of Health and Applied Human Sciences (SHAHS) within the College Health and Human Services at the University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW), seeks an outstanding faculty member for a 9-month tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the Master of Healthcare Administration program beginning August 2026.
The successful candidate will become one of ten Healthcare Administration faculty members serving approximately 400 graduate Healthcare Administration majors, have a wide-ranging Healthcare Administration background, and be able to teach a variety of graduate-level courses. The accelerated curriculum operates on a 7-week model whereby semesters are divided into two 7-week terms, 6 terms in all, across the academic year. Moreover, the successful candidate will conduct research, publish articles, write grants, mentor students, and provide community engagement and service to the program, school, college, university, and profession. The successful candidate will be expected to relocate to Southeastern North Carolina or the Wilmington area and maintain a campus presence as part of the School of Health and Applied Human Sciences faculty.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
* Doctoral degree in Healthcare Administration/Management, or Business Administration/Management (with at least 18 hours of graduate coursework closely related to Healthcare Administration/Management) from a regionally accredited program at time of application.
* Demonstrated potential to develop a successful research program and grant activity in Healthcare Administration.
* Successful teaching experience in a Healthcare Administration program in higher education.
Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills & Experience
In addition to the minimum qualifications, preference will be given to candidates who possess the following:
* Successful research program and grant activity with a clear research trajectory.
* Evidence of successful online teaching experience (preferably in an accelerated program).
* Recognized accomplishment in teaching and the scholarship of teaching related to the position.
* Experience with CAHME accreditation standards and competency-based education.
* Two or more years' experience in the Healthcare field noting recognized accomplishments.
* Relevant licenses/certifications (i.e., CPA, FACHE, FACMPE) in the Healthcare field.
* Active membership in professional societies (i.e., AUPHA, MGMA, ACHE, NAHSE).
* Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with constituents across the School, College and University and ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
* Ability to work in an electronic paperless environment utilizing multiple digital platforms and applications (i.e., learning management systems, assessment platforms, audio visual platforms, file management software, and social media) to complete work functions.
* Experience with AI use in educational and professional settings.

Help set up, operate, and tear down C2 systems, supporting equipment, and classroom resources used during training.

Assist with maintaining and updating lesson plans, handouts, slides, and other course materials as directed.
Support collection of student attendance, performance data, and feedback for After Instruction Reports and other training documentation.

Demonstrated experience delivering or supporting training for Marine Corps units or other military audiences.
Basic understanding of Marine Corps C2 systems, doctrine, and MAGTF staff processes.
Ability to follow approved lesson plans and instructor guidance while maintaining professionalism and classroom control.
Strong verbal and written communication skills and confidence speaking in front of groups.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks during training events.

The Master Robotics Instructor will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering advanced robotics and precision strike training, with a primary focus on:First Person View (FPV) attack/strike drones Ground Organic Precision Strike Weapon Systems (GOPPS) This instructor will construct and deliver the full period of instruction (POI), integrate capabilities into unit training and mission profiles, and support live-fire and field training exercises to ensure operational readiness.Key Responsibilities
Develop, refine, and deliver comprehensive POI focused on:
Attack Drones / FPV employment, tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs)
Ground Organic Precision Strike Weapon Systems (GOPPS) employment and integration
Instruct individual and collective training for MARSOC SR Teams in classroom, simulator, and field environments.
Design and execute practical exercise scenarios that replicate realistic operational environments, to include planning, rehearsals, and after-action reviews (AARs).
Integrate FPV and GOPPS capabilities into broader unit TTPs, mission planning, and rehearsals.
Ensure training is compliant with all applicable safety regulations, range control procedures, and USMC/USSOCOM guidance.
Gain and maintain:
Camp Lejeune Range Safety Officer (RSO) certification
Camp Lejeune Laser Safety Officer (LSO) certification
Maintain currency and proficiency with emerging FPV and precision strike technologies, platforms, and threat trends.
Coordinate with unit leadership, range control, and other stakeholders to schedule and execute training.
Support the development and updating of training documentation, lesson plans, SOPs, and risk assessments.
Required Qualifications

Graduate of a U.S. Assessment & Selection and Operator Qualification course, or

We seek an expert in applied geodesy, geophysics, and/or remote sensing who applies innovative methods to measure and interpret physical changes across Earth's land and ocean surfaces. Areas of interest may include, but are not limited to:

* Sea-level change and coastal and marine landscape evolution

The ideal candidate will develop a robust, externally funded research program and successfully advise graduate students. The candidate will demonstrate a strong record of effective teaching and be comfortable instructing courses at the introductory, upper division, and graduate levels. Course topics can include field- and laboratory-based research methods and courses in the candidate's area of expertise.
The position carries a full-time 3:2 teaching load of 15 contact hours per academic year. The candidate is also expected to attend departmental faculty meetings, participate in undergraduate and graduate committees, engage in service to the department, university, profession, and community, and actively assist in efforts to increase visibility, student participation, and enrollment in the department's academic programs.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Undergraduate course teaching: Masters degree with 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching discipline from a regionally accredited institution.
Graduate course teaching: Terminal degree in the teaching discipline from a regionally accredited institution.
Those with equivalent verifiable professional experience, certifications, and licensures in the discipline may also be considered.

The College of Health and Human Services was created in July 2010 to provide UNCW with a new mechanism to link and focus its health-related research, professional continuing education, and health knowledge dissemination and application. In the formative stage of development, the CHHS is currently home to three professional schools: School of Health and Applied Human Sciences, School of Nursing, and School of Social Work.
