    Job purpose Under the direction of the Beverage Supervisor, the Bartender is responsible for preparing and serving beverages to patrons and cocktail servers in accordance with established policy and procedures on an assigned shift. Duties and responsibilities Exhibit conduct in accordance with all Illinois Gaming Board (IGB) Rules and Regulations, Federal and State laws and regulations, and Company and departmental policies and procedures. Consistently deliver positive, courteous, and professional guest service in all interactions with guests, visitors, vendors, and fellow employees. Maintains and ensures checklist to completion including but not limited to opening and closing procedures. Prepares all drinks in accordance with established recipes. Slice and pit fruit for garnishing drinks. Performs any reasonable requests made by Beverage Management. Serves guests and servers according to established policy. Check identification of customers to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol. Provide amenities to guests such as matches, beverage napkins, and ashtrays throughout assigned bar and maintain assigned bar by collecting used glassware, ashtrays, trash and by consistently keeping the bar, work areas, and tables clean. Assist guests with beverage selection, demonstrating salesmanship with complete product knowledge. Anticipate, identify, and provide for guest needs. Clean and stock glassware, utensils, and bar equipment. Arrange liquor bottles, beer, fruit trays, and glassware to assure that the bar environment is perceived as clean, organized, and attractive at all times. Order or requisition liquors and supplies. Responsible for the receipt of monies and settlement of guest checks in accordance with all appropriate policies. Perform any duties on or off-site involving guest services and quality control including, but not limited to, special events, guest giveaways, crowd control, property cleanliness, and other hospitality functions as needed. Maintain a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment within area of responsibility. Demonstrate a commitment to ensuring responsible gaming and responsible alcohol service by discreetly notifying appropriate management of concerns and observations. Ensure prompt and discrete notification to senior management and/or the Ethics Hotline of any observation of illegal acts and/or internal ethics violations. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent preferred as well as certificate in Mixology. Ability to obtain a gaming license. Minimum of two (2) years in high volume bartending. Must be at least 21 years of age. Must be able to obtain and maintain responsible alcohol service certification (TIPs). Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends and holidays is required. Ability to deliver a service level which creates an atmosphere that makes our guests want to return, giving each guest a positive, memorable experience. Commitment to routinely go above and beyond in the accomplishment of position responsibilities in an effort to play a role in the achievement of organizational goals. Must present an image of excitement and enthusiasm, while being able to project a professional appearance and demeanor. Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
