Currently looking for a Geriatric Nurse for a great opportunity in the Utah area. The ideal candidate will hold a current nursing license and possess 1-2 years of long term care experience. This individual will work with elderly patients with diseases that affect aging adults.
Responsibilities of the Geriatric/Long-Term Care Nurse
Assist doctors in providing health care and support to elderly patients
Help to bathe bedridden patients to prevent bedsores
Understand patients medications and administer them to clients as and when due
Help to conduct regular screenings and routine check-up on patients
Help to assess the cognitive skills and mental status of their patients
Observe, understand, and manage peculiar old age health concerns like incontinence, insomnia, loss of strength and appetite, sexual issues as well as mobility challenges
Help to educate the families and caregivers of their patients on the best ways to care for them and keep them safe
Assist doctors with medical examinations and administer prescribed treatments
Help to maintain a chart for their patients in order to have accurate records of patients medical history, treatment plan and progress
Help to perform prescribed tests on their patients, like blood pressure checks, temperature, respiration, pulse and blood sugar.
Requirements of the Geriatric/Long-Term Care Nurse
Graduated from an accredited school of nursing, BSN preferred
Must have current nursing or LPN license
1-2 years of long term care experience
Interest in elderly care
Must have BLS

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Cleans forming areas and equipment according to current checklist.
* Tests, cleans and ensures working order of water sprays in forming hood, ducts, fans, etc. Monitors environment for equipment issues and ensures work notifications are completed as needed.

* Monitors and adds anti-foam and anti-microbial ingredients.
* Monitors water levels in drop out boxes, trenches, pits, etc.
* Performs checks and autonomous maintenance tasks on oven environmental system.
* Removes excess cullet from sumps and trenches.
* Checks and clears cullet chutes, ensures empty hoppers are under cullet chutes, and transports cullet.
* Operates material handling equipment as required.
* Collects scrap hoppers and empties in designated area.
* Participates in the safety, communication process, continuous improvement, and good housekeeping programs as established within the plant.
* Trains in Tar and Paper area.
* Relieves and assists on set up of jobs (i.e. water jet cutters) as needed.
* Assists in correction of production problems which may include jam ups.
* Assists other crew members as directed (including, but not limited to, tar and paper operations, etc.)
* Performs other related duties consistent with the nature of the job as directed by supervision.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
The employee should hold the following abilities:
* Able to operate forklift, Paper clamp and front loader equipment.
* Understand the plant safety guidelines and pass all required safety training.
* Know and understand how to clean and check all forming equipment.
* Know and understand how to operate assigned forming equipment.
