Special education assistant job at Fallbrook Union High School District
Fallbrook Union Elementary School District is a K-8 district. The successful candidate must be able to accomplish the following responsibilities in a friendly, efficient and professional manner:
Follows plans and assists the teacher with the development and presentation of learning materials and instructional exercises.
Receives children from parents. Notes all special instruction which parents may provide.
Assists in the supervision of small groups of students in the classroom, playground and study trip activities.
Attends to the physical needs of the children (i.e., feeding, toileting, resting, etc.). Assists children with development of self-help skills.
To do related work as required.
DETAILS FOR THIS POSITION:

WORK SCHEDULE: 6.0 hours/day, 5 days/week, Monday- Friday, Work hours will vary

REQUIREMENTS FOR APPLYING: High School degree or recognized equivalent, 6 or more units or equivalent quarter units of post-secondary child development or early childhood education course work from an accredited college or university; and either an Associate's Degree of Arts (AA) or have completed 48 college/university semester units or pass the FUESD proficiency test for this classification; experience working with people diverse groups and cultures; one (1) year of paid or volunteer experience working with preschool children in an educational or childcare setting is highly desirable, supplemented by courses in childcare, supervision, psychology or guidance; or any combination of training and experience that could likely provide the desired knowledge and abilities

Testing is located at the District Office in the Human Resources Department, at 321 Iowa Street, Fallbrook, CA 92028. YOU WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED IF TESTING IS NOT COMPLETED.
Proficiency test is not required if you have an Associate or Bachelor's degree; however, proof of degree must be scanned and submitted (uploaded and attached) to your application.
It is the policy of this District that employment will be offered to the successful candidate contingent upon satisfactory completion of a pre-employment physical, drug/alcohol screening test, fingerprint clearance with the Department of Justice and FBI, and a current verification of a negative T.B. test or chest x-ray.
