MHS is hiring married couples to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents. In this unique and life-changing career, couples reside in on-campus student homes and provide care, guidance, supervision, and support for a group of approximately 8-13 students living in the home. Flex Houseparents play a vital role in creating a structured, family-like environment that fosters students' academic, emotional, and social development so they can reach their full potential.
Responsibilities include:
Providing daily supervision and mentorship
Managing household routines and student schedules
Administering medications and ensuring student wellness
Driving students to activities, as well as planning and actively engaging in developmental and recreational activities with students
Leading daily devotions and accompanying students to Sunday Chapel
Overseeing budgeting and household reporting
Upon hire, Flex Houseparents initially support various student homes and follow a working schedule of nine consecutive days on duty, followed by three days off. On weekdays, houseparents have unscheduled time while students are in school. Flex Houseparents eventually transition into a Placed Houseparent role, where they live and work with the same group of students in their own student home.

MHS is hiring married couples to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents. In this unique and life-changing career, couples reside in on-campus student homes and provide care, guidance, supervision, and support for a group of approximately 8-13 students living in the home. Flex Houseparents play a vital role in creating a structured, family-like environment that fosters students' academic, emotional, and social development so they can reach their full potential.
Responsibilities include:
Providing daily supervision and mentorship
Managing household routines and student schedules
Administering medications and ensuring student wellness
Driving students to activities, as well as planning and actively engaging in developmental and recreational activities with students
Leading daily devotions and accompanying students to Sunday Chapel
Overseeing budgeting and household reporting
Upon hire, Flex Houseparents initially support various student homes and follow a working schedule of nine consecutive days on duty, followed by three days off. On weekdays, houseparents have unscheduled time while students are in school. Flex Houseparents eventually transition into a Placed Houseparent role, where they live and work with the same group of students in their own student home.

Experience working or volunteering with youth
This is a two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
Both spouses must be age 27 or older
No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
Pet limitations: only fish and one dog of approved breeds allowed
Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
High school diploma or GED required
Ability to lift to 50 lbs.

POSITION SUMMARY
Provides personal care services under the direction of a designee. The Personal Care Attendant is assigned to specific clients, and performs services for clients as necessary to maintain their personal comfort.
REPORTS TO: General Manager
QUALIFICATIONS
Successful completion of a formal certification training program and/or a written skills test and competency evaluation.
Be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
Minimum of six (6) months work experience in a supervised setting, preferably health care setting.
Demonstrated ability to read, write, and follow a written Plan of Care and/or Aide Care Plan.
Good verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
Licensed driver with an automobile and insured in accordance with state and/or Agency requirements and in good repair. Good driving record.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY
Performs simple procedures as an extension of therapy services under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse.

Assists in the administration of medications that are ordinarily self-administered under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse (in accordance with state licensure regulations, state practice acts, and Agency policy).
Reports any observed or reported changes in the client's condition and/or needs to the Registered Nurse. Follows reporting guidelines in the Aide Care Plan.
Documents care provided and completes the forms required for the client's records. Submits documentation per Agency requirements-at least weekly.
Promotes personal safety and a safe environment for clients by observing infection control practices, following Agency guidelines, and reporting unsafe situations to the Clinical Supervisor/Case Manager.
Demonstrates safe practice in the use of equipment. Does not use equipment until orientation about its operation has been provided. Notifies supervisor of educational needs.
Communicates effectively with all members of the interdisciplinary team through verbal reports, participation in staff meetings, and team conferences, as requested.
Maintains confidentiality in all aspects of the job.
Attends in-service programs to meet compliance requirements. Identifies learning needs to Agency supervisor.
Performs other related duties and responsibilities as deemed necessary.
