Summary:
As a Resident Assistant for our community, you are a key member of an amazing team, enhancing the lives of our residents. By providing consistent and quality care, our caregiving team ensures our residents live meaningful life.
Essential Functions:
Assists residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, eating, transferring, and mobility
Engages residents in meaningful conversation, socialization, and activity while providing personal care assistance
Responds to all resident needs and/or requests for care promptly, and provides or obtains assistance with care as necessary
Assists in the dining room during resident meal times
Encourages residents to participate in scheduled activities and outings, and assists with those activities as needed
Assists in the cleanliness of the community, including straightening resident beds, emptying resident garbage, and tidies resident rooms daily and as needed
Assists with resident laundry per shift guidelines
Minimum Eligibility Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous experience working with the elderly in a residential or long-term care setting is preferred.
Must be able to read, write and speak English to communicate effectively with residents, families, visitors, and other staff members.
Must be able to perform job duties and responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs).
Monitor and report any changes in residents physical or mental health.
Assists with serving resident meals.
Provide companionship and build positive relationships with clients to reduce feelings of isolation or loneliness.
Assist in maintaining accurate records of care provided, including daily logs, progress notes, and incident reports.
A Caregiver will maintain resident confidentiality.
Encourage clients to participate in activities that promote physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
Support clients in maintaining independence in their daily routines and decision-making.
Ensure a safe environment by identifying and addressing potential hazards in community settings.
Respond promptly and appropriately to emergencies, such as falls, injuries, or sudden health changes, following established protocols.
Collaborate with the care team, including healthcare professionals, social workers, and family members, to provide coordinated care.
Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members to ensure clarity and understanding of care plans and any changes.
Present for staff meetings and training.

REQUIREMENTS:
Must be 18 years of age
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Previous experience in caregiving, home care, or community-based care is preferred.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help others.
Good organizational and time management skills.
Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and assisting residents with mobility.
Must be able to stand, walk, and reach for extended periods.

What is your job role?
