This unique opportunity will allow the Primary Care Physician to play a key role on the multidisciplinary team by providing comprehensive medical care to patients of Equitas Health, with a special focus on serving the LGBTQ community. Equitas Health currently has clinic teams equipped with Primary Care Physicians, Infectious Disease Physicians, and Nurse Practitioners crossed trained in HIV management and primary care. We are seeking a candidate that will help to strengthen our primary care capacity. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills in office-based medicine and will be committed to providing exceptional care, resulting in high patient satisfaction and quality outcomes. MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY: Provide the highest quality outpatient medical services to patients by assessing healthcare needs, performing physical examinations, ordering pertinent diagnostic tests, diagnosing, providing education to patients, and prescribing pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic therapies including controlled substances. Provide culturally competent health care to all patients with a particular focus on the LGBTQ community. Play a key role on a multidisciplinary team to develop coordinated treatment plans for patients. Assist with the development and implementation of clinic policies and procedures, clinical protocols, continuous quality improvement standards, and program monitoring. Work closely with administrative staff and the Medical Director to implement innovative approaches to care and meet strict standards as imposed by a variety of accrediting bodies. Develop strong collaborative relationships with other community providers, particularly referral sources and the hospital at which physicians will be privileged. Continually update knowledge on topics related to LGBTQ health, primary care topics, and HIV/AIDS through reading, conference attendance, lectures, and other educational opportunities. Act as a collaborating physician for Advanced Practice Nurses on staff. Education and experience: Graduation from an accredited university with a Doctor of Medicine degree or a Doctor of Osteopathy degree. Completion of an accredited residency program 2+ years experience in providing primary care required CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSURE: Active and unrestricted medical licensure in Ohio Federal DEA license Board certification in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine AAHIVM certification to be obtained within 18 months of hire OTHER INTERESTS, ABILITIES, AND EXPERIENCE: Passion for and cultural competency in serving LGBTQ patients Excellent bedside manner and commitment to customer service Ability to provide clinic coverage one Saturday morning per month and select (evening(s) per week. The Primary Care Physician provides comprehensive healthcare services to patients within the scope of their license. This role involvesperforming routine examinations, diagnostic testing, assessments andscreenings, prescribing treatments, and instructing patients and family memberson general health conditions and treatment options, as well as other duties asassigned. Minimum Requirements: + Graduation for an accredited medical school as a MedicalDoctorate (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO). + Licensed as a Primary Care Physician by the state in whichthe provider is practicing. + Board Certification in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine,or a related field by a nationally accredited medical organization (e.g.,American Board of Family Medicine - ABFM, American Board of Internal Medicine -ABIM) is preferred unless required by contract. + Specialty Certification as per client request and/or stateregulations if applicable. + One year of experience as a Primary Care Physicianpreferred. + Role may require collaboration with advanced practitionersper state/facility requirements. + Current CPR if applicable + TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable + Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation) + Must meet all federal, state and local requirements + Must be at least 18 years of age + Complies with all relevant professional standards ofpractice under licensure and scope.
