Department Anesthesiologists Job Summary Under minimal supervision, administers general, regional and monitored anesthesia care for scheduled and emergency surgical and obstetrical procedures. Performs anesthesia-related procedures at the discretion of and under the supervision of an attending anesthesiologist. Evaluates patients preoperatively and, in consultation with the attending anesthesiologist, formulates and carries out an anesthesia care plan including monitoring and recording patient reaction to anesthesia and modifying the anesthetic plan accordingly. Safely transports patients to and from an anesthetizing location and ensures appropriate care during the postoperative period. Essential Functions: Performs appropriate pre-induction evaluation of patient's physical status. Formulates an appropriate anesthetic plan consistent with surgical requirements, taking into consideration the physical and emotional condition of the patient.
