You will be conducting disability assessments for veterans in your office. This is a contract position which offers: Supplemental Income: Earn extra revenue without taking on additional clinical shifts or compromising your current patient load. This opportunity is ideal for providers looking to add to their existing income streams. Flexible Schedule: Integrate these assessments into your practice as it suits your availability. Responsibilities: Practice medicine using sound medical judgment and adhere to all ethical considerations of the practice of medicine; know limitations and seek consultation when advisable; keep abreast of current technologies and industry standards Meet all clinical obligations of the medical practice: Accrediting Agency compliance, CLIA compliance, drug prescription compliance, HIPAA, State and Federal regulations, Safety Regulations, etc. Independently provide care for patients with acute and chronic illness encountered in the older adult patient Accountable for patient care and outcomes and will appropriately seek consultation from specialists when needed, though will stay involved in, and be responsible for, the detailed care of the patient Engage with hospitalists whenever a patient is in the hospital Assess, diagnose, treat, manage, educate, promote health, and provide care coordination and documentation for patients with acute and complex chronic health needs using evidence-based medicine and practice guidelines Maintain complete and detailed records, electronically in the EMR, of patients' health care plans and prognosis, completed within 48 hours of each patient's visit Provide quality evidence-based medical care in a managed care environment, focused on prevention, and outcomes Exhibit behavior that emphasizes compassion, quality, loyalty, and conscientiousness Interpret data and diagnostic results for an appropriate course of action including but not limited to blood gasses, radiology, EKG, etc. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, their families, and team members Oversee and supervise Nurse Practitioners and/or Physician Assistants when requested Responsible for ensuring that patients are seen at least every other visit by a Physician Provide 5-Star service in accordance with Better Health Group's mission Additional duties as assigned Position Requirements/ Skills: Medical Degree from an accredited medical school Active medical license in the state of practice At least 3 years of experience in outpatient primary care experience ACLS/BLS certification is required as mandated by state of practice Excellent diagnostic skills and ability to interpret medical tests and results Prior experience working in an electronic medical records system Ability to diagnose and manage chronic diseases such as diabetes, atherosclerotic disease, COPD, CHF, obesity, etc. in the senior population Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations Appreciation of cultural diversity and sensitivity toward target patient populations Working knowledge with Google Suite (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for real-time collaboration Excellent organizational and time-management skills with strong attention to detail Ability to shift focus, multitask, and prioritize in a rapidly changing environment Demonstrated ability to handle emergencies calmly and effectively Demonstrated resourcefulness, initiative, and results-oriented capabilities Must be able to work professionally with confidential information Strong reasoning, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills Must be results-oriented with a focus on quality execution and delivery Ability to work cross-functionally with multiple teams;
