The candidate will have the following responsibilities: * Surgically recovers abdominal (liver, kidney, pancreas, and small bowel) organs for transplantation and research in donor hospitals throughout the service area. * Assumes on-call responsibilities as required to assure adequate coverage for donor activity and must be available to surgically recover organs at the specified time. * Supports compliance to CMS and UNOS regulations and AOPO standards and/or other medical/legal requirements. * Provides education and training to OPO staff and hospital personnel involved in the donation process. * Serves as an advisor between the organization and hospital staff when organ procurement is in progress.
