Hospitalist Program: Scope of Activities
Clinical Activities
The group's current clinical activities include: Teaching services, direct care services, consultative activities, co-management services, complex care services, , the intermediate medical care and a nocturnist service. While there is dedicated nocturnist support, shifts include nights, weekends and holidays. The division employs support staff including a hospitalist administrator, administrative manager, administrative coordinators, medical office coordinators and program specialists, and also employs moonlighters (faculty, residents and fellows) as needed to support some clinical activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Care:
Provide comprehensive medical care for hospitalized patients, including admission, diagnosis, treatment, and discharge planning.
Conduct daily rounds to assess patients' conditions and update their treatment plans.
Make timely, evidence-based decisions regarding patient care and treatment plans.
Respond to clinical emergencies and ensure the safety and comfort of patients.
Collaboration:
Work closely with physicians in training, attending physicians, consultants, & physician advisors as needed.
Collaborate with nurses, social workers, case managers, utilization management nurses, clinical pharmacists, pharmacy extenders and other members of the healthcare team to provide coordinated care.
Communicate effectively with care teams, patients and families, providing education on diagnoses, treatment options, and care plans.

Location: Falls Church, VA (20mins from Washington, DC)
Clinic Open: M-F 8am - 4pm.
Ability to work 4.5 day work week. Zero Call or Weekends!
Volume: 18-20 patients per day
Current team is one full time physician and an NP
Providing evaluations, treatment, and medication management in the outpatient setting.
Provide the full scope of primary medical care to patients including diagnosis and treatment of a broad range of conditions.
