Responsibilities
Conduct eye exams using mobile optometric equipment and general diagnostic interpretation.
Diagnose and treat ocular disease.
Prescribe, fit, and adjust eyeglasses.

Answer questions and educate patients, family or responsible parties, and facility staff about any concerning vision and optical matters.
Deliver outstanding customer service through all patient interactions.
Support in the development of the overall service.

Location
This position covers their home market which includes driving up to a 3-hour radius (depending on provider preference, location, and need). Guaranteed Hours: 40/week
The Perfusionist is responsible for operating extracorporeal circulation equipment during procedures requiring cardiopulmonary support. In collaboration with the physician, the Perfusionist selects appropriate equipment and techniques, manages physiologic parameters, and ensures safe support of the patient's circulatory and respiratory functions.
This role may also include administrative management, supply oversight, equipment maintenance, staff development, quality assurance, and policy/procedure implementation.
Key Responsibilities
• Operate extracorporeal circulation and cardiopulmonary support systems
• Perform ECMO, ventricular assist support, counterpulsation, hemodilution, and myocardial preservation
• Conduct blood conservation, autotransfusion, blood gas/blood chemistry monitoring
• Administer medications, blood components, and anesthetic agents via extracorporeal circuit
• Set up and monitor balloon pumps and long-term support equipment
• Insert IV and intra-arterial catheters as indicated
• Prepare platelet gel or fibrin glue
• Assist supervising physician with consult information gathering (no dictation)
• Maintain cardiac perfusion equipment; ensure inventory and upkeep
• Assist with scheduled cardiovascular cases and be available for standby/call
• Complete documentation, including billing spreadsheets
• Provide age-appropriate patient interaction and uphold cultural sensitivity
• Share knowledge with staff formally and informally
• Comply with hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory guidelines
Required Education & Experience
• High school diploma + completion of an accredited Clinical Perfusionist Training Program
• Previous perfusionist experience preferred (not required)

Qualifications are BE or BC, hold an active state license (any state will suffice), current DEA, and updated BLS/ACLS.
Duties include but are not limited to the following: Serve as the attending for inpatient and outpatient services, perform evaluations involving complete history and physical examinations and the ordering of laboratory studies relevant to the patient's medical problem, and supervise housestaff and midlevel providers and assist with their evaluation and management of patients.
Perform specialty specific procedures including but not limited to: Arterial/venous blood sampling, thoracentesis, arterial and venous catheter placement, placement of central venous lines/acute dialysis catheters/PA catheters, intubation, fiberoptic bronchoscopy, lumbar puncture, joint aspiration, placement of NG/feeding tubes, aspiration of subcutaneous fluid collections, bladder catheterizations, and performing portable ultrasound. Contract Physicians shall be 1) Board Certified or 2) Board Eligible and less than four (4) years out of Residency, 3) and have current certification in Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
May operate with a license in any state, territory or commonwealth in the United States. The provider shall hold a Doctor of Medicine Degree from an accredited college or university approved by the Department of Education.
The contract physician will provide comprehensive assessment, diagnostic work-up and clinic intervention, including comprehensive patient assessment, health history, physical examination, and patient education to patients in the Primary Care setting.
The contract physician is required to make physician-to-physician contact calls with private and client physicians regarding referral of patients and to make telephone arrangements with appropriate physicians at tertiary care medical centers to arrange for referral of patients to other medical centers.
The contract physician will be required to enter all notes, request diagnostic tests, consultative requests, order medications and resulting reports into the computerized patient record system (CPRS) on the day of the visit. In the event of computer system failure, the physician must maintain sufficient written or typed information to allow for entry in CPRS at a later time. Documentation is expected to meet medical center policies/Clinical Practice Guideline and Joint Commission/HCFA standards for documentation and subsequent coding. The physician needs a strong working knowledge of computers/skills to access the computerized patient record system (CPRS) utilized by the client. CPRS orientation will be provided to the new provider, but this training cannot compensate for limited exposure to computers and poor data entry skills.
