CHOC is unique in that Interventional Radiology is an independent department-purpose-built and equipped with dedicated capital investment, not repurposed from other service lines. The department was developed specifically for pediatric IR and opened in 2025 with entirely new infrastructure and technology. This institutional design reflects CHOC's deep commitment to the long-term success and autonomy of the IR service line, enabling strategic growth, programmatic development, and physician well-being.
The practice is now anchored by a new, purpose-designed IR department, located within the perioperative space, immediately adjacent to pre-op and post-op care areas. Pediatric anesthesiology is always available, ensuring seamless coordination and safety for both routine and complex cases.

Responsibilities
Spends 100% of time in a center providing direct patient care, leading by example, enhancing processes and procedures to minimize visit times, and creating an exceptional patient experience
Ensures day-to-day execution as the Primary Treating Physician (PTP) for all injuries collaborating with therapists and specialists to drive optimal clinical outcomes and expedite case closure
Manages clinicians and support staff and complies with all supervisory physician requirements for PA/NPs
