The CRNA is responsible for assessing patients, developing individualized anesthesia care plans, administering anesthesia, monitoring patients intraoperatively, and managing recovery from anesthesia. This role ensures safe, effective, and compassionate care while upholding the highest standards of clinical practice.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct pre-anesthesia assessments, including patient history, physical examination, and review of diagnostic data.
Develop and implement anesthesia care plans tailored to patient needs and surgical requirements.
Administer general, regional, and monitored anesthesia care in a variety of clinical settings.
Monitor patients' vital signs, depth of anesthesia, and physiologic status during procedures.
Respond to emergency situations and provide airway management, resuscitation, and critical care support as needed.
Ensure safe emergence from anesthesia and provide post-anesthesia care, including pain management.
Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and other members of the care team.
Educate patients and families about anesthesia procedures, risks, and recovery expectations.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in patient records.

Maintains current certification as CRNA. Masters degree preferred. New graduates must be certified as soon as possible.

Position Summary
The Department of Family and Community Medicine at the University of Illinois College of Medicine Rockford (UICOMR) and the UI Health Mile Square Health Center - L.P. Johnson Rockford are pleased to announce a joint full-time position for a Family Medicine Physician. This role encompasses both clinical responsibilities at the health center and faculty duties within UICOMR, providing a unique opportunity to blend patient care with teaching, mentoring, and scholarly activity.
Duties & Responsibilities
Examine patient and obtain medical history from patient, parents, guardians to prepare patient profile. Review developmental and medical history of patient. Participate in diagnostic staffing to correlate findings, determine diagnosis and develop appropriate treatment recommendations. Discuss findings and recommendations with client, parents, agencies, etc. as needed. Responsible for medication management (includes but is not limited to writing prescriptions, monitoring efficacy, monitoring adverse reactions). Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
Faculty supervision of the clinical care provided by family medicine residents in both the inpatient and outpatient setting. Direct clinic patient care and management of a personal panel of patients. Presentation of didactics to support residency curriculum. Advising and mentoring of residents. Participation in resident and faculty recruitment activities. Precepting medical students on their family medicine clerkship in both the inpatient and outpatient setting. Participation in various committees related to the mission of the College of Medicine
Minimum Qualifications
* MD or DO or its foreign equivalent from an LCME accredited medical college
* Board Certified in Family Medicine
* Unrestricted Illinois license to practice medicine or Illinois license-eligible
Preferred Qualifications
* Advanced training or fellowship in obstetrics or women's health
* Experience in performing and interpreting obstetric ultrasound procedures
* Experience in managing prenatal care and independently performing deliveries
