Required Qualifications: The Contract Psychiatrist shall provide a high standard of clinical practice and clinical expertise contributing to the provision of efficient and effective Psychiatric clinical services to the Indian community, as served by the Lawton IHS facility. Psychiatric services shall include comprehensive care for patients with a variety of mental health conditions including, but not limited to: patients with mood disorders, anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders, substance abuse and those who have a dual diagnosis. The contractor shall evaluate, diagnose and treat patients with a variety of mental health symptoms and diagnosis. They will be able to diagnosis applicable conditions as presented in the DSM-V for patients in our Lawton Service Unit. After diagnosis, they shall be able to offer appropriate psychiatric interventions consisting of psychopharmacology, therapy services, or both. The Contract Psychiatrist will be primarily performing these duties in the outpatient Behavioral Health Clinic. Occasionally, they may be required to participate in consultation services for our inpatient medical unit. Maintains a high standard of professional care in accordance with statutory and regulatory requirements and agency policies. Assumes clinical responsibility for established patients with psychiatric conditions.
